If anything, I just hope we take these next two because suddenly people are talking that the Cubs are back in the playoff picture, including Cubs fans.

 

The first two games of this series, the previews talked about how the Brewers and Cubs both expected for these games to mean more, but their playoff hopes have been dashed. Today's previews are all about how the Cubs are making an "improbable run".

 

Let's squash that at least some. Please?

It's still extremely unlikely the Cubs make the playoffs. Coolstandings gives them a 2.8% shot and Baseball Prospectus gives them a 2.5% shot. At best they're 7.5 games behind the Cardinals and 4.5 behind the Rockies after tonight with three more teams to jump.

Watching him has been a pure joy. I can't wait to see him for an entire season at SS in 2010. He is just an exciting player.

What was the deal with the Soto error and subsequent awarding of 3B to Lopez? We weren't home yet for that inning.
