The guy who got hit by the bounced pitch by Villa didn't even move. Didn't even flinch until it hit him. He should not have been awarded first base.

So...

If we are leading by a run or 2 going into the 9th, do we go to Hoffman and if so, how nervous will you be?

I'm sure Macha will, and very.

Who screwed that one up? Slow-running McGehee or Brad Fischer? I see that play working with a fast runner, but basically suicide with a slow runner.

He was clearly out on the tag, and the first baseman took his time throwing it. Ugh

He's the closer so you go with him until he's not the closer or if he needs a day off. He doesn't need a day off so he is pitching and I may have to stop listening is how nervous I will be.

Sonnnnnnnnnnnn of a......!

Anyone see it? Was it close? Bad/good base running?

It was fairly close, still a stupid play though. McGehee is slow and the bases were going to be loaded for Weeks. I'll take my chances on that than McGehee beating a throw home.

Yeah.. even with Weeks struggling, he's still takin' his walks and has a good chance of gettin a good pitch to hit.

You knew me as Myday2001.

I'd be curious if McGehee slowed up at all around 3rd base. I actually kind of liked the attempt. I don't mind taking a chance once in a while.

On TV they said he did not slow at all, was going 100% the entire way.

Its a bang-bang play to get that to work, and with the first baseman daydreaming a bit, it almost worked. But McGehee is slow.

Is it too much to ask for Coffey to go two innings so we dont have to see Hawkins today?
Believe it or not, aside from that disaster at Chicago, Hawkins has been pretty good this year (and yes, he pitched just fine at Washington - he got really unlucky that game). Not saying he's going to come in and strikeout the side, but I have no problem with him going in.

So it's a little early to discuss...but do they bring out Hoffman in a save situation?
It's still early...but I have no idea. If Trevor has a dead arm or a sore finger or whatever, I wish he'd just own up to it.

Nice work by The Troy. His pitch count in the 8th was 11.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
