Fielder's consecutive games played streak ends tonight at 327, scratched with the flu. McGehee moves to 1st base and Gamel (!!!!) gets the start at 3rd.

I just got home from work, despite having been there since 7:30 AM. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif If anyone's around to chat, feel free to start without me, and I'll join in after I've had something to eat.

Go Brewers!

The Hart all-star jersey I ordered was delivered today. It looks better than I expected, doesn't hang down to my knees, and it has already brought good fortune in the form of Corey's game-tying home run. What's not to like?

I haven't watched the last 2 days now (and don't plan to the rest of the year), so i was shocked to see this lineup.

And holy crap. When Weeks is off, he's the worst hitter in the league by a landslide. Macha should probably pencil him in for an off day.

But now Rickie has the longest active consecutive-game streak on the Brewers! unless Prince makes an unlikely PH appearance tonight.

6 ABs and 4 Ks for Gamel. I have faith in Gamel, but maybe he needs to relax a little bit.
I agree, but he probably is pressing a bit to impress and feels he needs to rip a double or HR every AB to get more PT.

Nice effort by the Narvdog tonight. It'd be nice if someone could give him a chance at the win. Like maybe birthday boy Rickie.

This article A Series in Need of a Promotion is about Mets vs Pirates but it very much reminded me of this Brewers vs Astros game. Anyone who has watched this game from front to end is seriously die hard and I congratulate you. I know I can't.

Gobias, you've really been railing on Weeks throughout his slump, wow. I do agree he should get a day off.

Polish: I feel its one of the most interesting storylines going into the offseason, and obviously I feel really strongly that Weeks is very replaceable. I also find it really interesting that he's shot himself in the foot by not signing an extension during the season.

This year he's basically the same player he's always been. But since he's had a ton of at bats and run hot on singles his counting numbers look better and everyone wants to sign him to a deal.

Thanks so much, MLB.com, for the live look-in just as the Brewers are losing.

Seriously, I can hear individual fan whistles and cheers echoing in MMP.

With his good start tonight, would you believe Chris Narveson is now 3-1 in his last 10 starts w/ a 3.29 ERA? 54.2 IP, 45 hits, 20 ER, 15 BB, 49K. Very solid, and all the more so considering how terribly he started out.

Now the offense totally stinks. 4 runs in the last 4 games, 1-3 record. Sheesh.

Seconded. I made about 5 minutes.

Anybody ready for the 16-3 run to get that winning season?!?

That said I sure wish the Brewers would pick up the next two; I'd like to see them finish third in this lousy division at least, however meaningless it may be.

He's been a 5 WAR player this year, our best player as well. He's not very replaceable. And how has he shot himself in the foot? His agent left and he had to find a new one. Did you think he should've negotiated an extension by himself?

I will also eat a rock and drink glue (can you really drink glue?) if there were 20,000 people there tonight much less the listed 31,000+.
