I really don't think Gomez would've been safe had he not slid. His slide was actually pretty late, unlike a lot of those gritty battlers who start their slide 20 feet from the bag. I thought it was a nice attempt by Gomez. Just needed to bunt it a smidge softer.

Agreed. Plus, the way it was playing out was ripe for a massive collision. It was a fairly good bunt, but a very good play. He's out either way.
