2013 Brewerfan.net Winter Meetings:Saturday, March 2, 7 PM, at MP Friday's

Posted

I haven't been on the board in a long time. Wow.

In my experience, Fridays is rarely busy during the winter months, even on weekends. Shouldn't be a problem to just grab a few tables, and they should be willing to do separate checks. The food is *meh* because it's Friday's, but no one will get lost :)

Poonix and I aren't likely to make it. We're having our season ticket draft on the 9th and the 2nd is moving weekend.

How about we shoot for Friday's at Miller Park on Saturday, March 2nd? I don't think reserving the room is in order...like hawing said, we usually get no more than 15 or so people anyway. I will make a call there in the next few days to check on it unless anyone has any strenuous objections.

March 2 ought to work for the hawing household, as long as Mother Nature can hold off the snow/ice. [Plus it would leave open the possibility of a "take two" on March 9, should the 2nd be a bad weather day.]

How about 6:00 or 7:00 for a start time? I'm just throwing ideas out there, so someone with better planning genes can feel free to speak up.

If you're OK with March 2 at the Miller Park Friday's, reply in this thread with at least kind of a head count, so we have an idea of how many/who to watch for. Thanks!

I'd like to come.. I kinda doubt it would be that jammed, since its the dog days of sports, NCAA BBall, maybe but thats it..

I work like 2 miles from MP, so I could just come over.

OK everyone, we are officially on for March 2nd at Friday's at Miller Park. I called and did reserve a group of tables for 7 PM that evening.

Thanks to hawing for reminding me to make the call, as this is coming up in less than two weeks! Hopefully we can get a good group of people again this year!

If the seeding plays out, we will be hosting a girls' basketball regional final on Saturday March 2nd, so my wife and I will be unable to attend.

(hope I didn't jinx the girls ;) )

I will be there, unless stuff happens!

Excellent! Would that you could pry TheBwaz away from home for a night as well. I know he's a busy dude, though.

For those of you still planning your weekend, if you're near enough to swing by Miller Park on Saturday evening - why not stop by Friday's and hang with some of your Brewerfan contemporaries? Don't be intimidated; we're not that cool. ;) 7:00 PM, be there. See for yourself what some of us look like!

Will there be a Wisconsin famous relish tray there?

Ba ha ha. I don't think the restaurant would welcome brought-in food.

Likewise. The 2013 event drew 12 fans, and since Friday's didn't have room for us in the regular part of the restaurant, they put us in the Brew Room Suite without the usual Saturday evening charge ($100 plus $500 minimum in food/drink). So apparently Brewerfan is kind of a big deal. We had a great server, appropriately named Brian, who lingered during our "other ballparks" discussion to get some ideas for his own future travels - and who opened up the Brew Room balcony for a few minutes so we could gaze out onto the field and take photos.

I would call this another winner. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it, and to Invader for making the arrangements (i.e. that one phone call).

Yes, it was a great time. Good conversation with some really nice people with a shared passion. Thanks Hawing for making it happen, and thanks to the great folks I met!

Awesome! I'm quite jealous. Glad you folks had a blast.

Glad to hear everyone had fun; disappointed that we couldn't make it this year.

Consolation is that our girls came through with a regional championship. (Even better news is sectionals are at neutral site so less work for me and can now enjoy the games a little more :) )
