Random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else thread: 2010

So we flew out of Mitchell today on our way to AZ. Never noticed this before, but my son pointed out the sign that hangs above the area right after you go through security. It reads "Recombobulation Area". Not sure if this is the common name in all airports, but we all found this very funny. So basically going though security gets you discombobulated and you need an area to recombobulate. I didn't even know that recombobulationi was a word.

Also, we have always found it interesting that we can never find a pizza with sausage on it in a grocery store in Phoenix. Its such a standard pizza ingredient in Wisconsin.

Does anyone have experience with this product at all? Ambient Baseball ScoreCast Desktop Scoreboard - Provides Scores, Stats and Schedules for Every Pro Baseball Team!

It's selling for $40 today and I'm kind of interested since it doesn't require any kind of pc or wi-fi connection and it (supposedly) has inning by inning updates on all baseball scores and game action as well as standings. I don't currently have a PC with internet access or the luxory of listening to a radio at work and just curious if this works as well as they claim. It would be great to be able to get updates during Brewer games without having to go into the backroom of my store and hopefully hear the score on the radio.

That looks pretty neat. I'm thinking about getting it as a gift for my son for his birthday.

I also know you can by watches that give all this information as well.

edit: My only concern is how long the batteries last if you leave it on. Do you have to make sure you turn it off in order to conserve battery life?

I ordered it just to give it a shot. Couldn't find it anywhere else for under $74, so I'm hoping it's worth the shot. I'll update this thread when I get it (probably after opening day with $5 shipping) and let you guys know how it works.

There's a large piece of city equipment parked outside our house, next to a manhole in the street. It's really loud, and I hope it's not there because of a water problem because I need a shower.

Just this past month or so we've gotten an NRA promotional DVD intended for the dude who sold the house to the previous owners and a placard for the "Michigan Womyn's Music Festival" intended for one of the two women we bought our house from. I have an equal amount of disinterest in both.

Hot Tob Time Machine should have been a much better movie than it was.

Promotional materials from the NRA and the Womyn's Music Festival? You better check your foundation. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

This sign is a few blocks from our house:

Last night my wife asked me when my dog's birthday is. I told her. Then she asked me when her's was...I should have known the first question was a trap.

I was in Madison this last weekend, well Middleton mostly, at any rate we drove past a bar advertising a roadkill burrito. We were pressed for time and didn't stop, but next year we're so intrigued we're stopping for lunch.

Backupcatchers, I hope you gave your wife the wrong answer or pretended not to know at all. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

If Google can be trusted (and when could it be otherwise?), that would be at the Village Green in Middleton.

I told her September something. It's really June 8th.

Telling her September 31st would have been cool.

Right now there are probably more threads that I'm not interested in being actively used in the "off topic" forum on bf.net than at any other point in the past 4 years.

That is correct. I had a business lunch there a couple of years ago, and remember the food being really good.

I am making red cake for Opening Day. I am substituting blue food dye for red. My wife thinks I am crazy. She always says that and a day later I see her doing the same thing I did when she said I was crazy. I love red cake.

I made my first red velvet cake for my birthday in February. It was really good. I think blue cake is a great idea.

Red velvet cake is delicious. Be extremely careful to keep the mix contained, though. It will splash on everything and does not come off easily.

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.
