Either Jenkins and Stairs, or Balfour and Gross will have World Series rings in less than 2 weeks.
Let us not forget the underdog Keith Coste.

John Kruk on Game Two of the World Series:

"It's not the type of at bat -- it's the quality of the at bat."

"The Phillies aren't producing because they're making bad productive outs."

What?

when I first saw the sign, I wondered why a church was putting lineups on it's marquee.

The Iowa Cubs have a sign very much like that, to display their starting lineups. (We stopped in Des Moines en route to Kansas City.)

I'm hoping this car alarm that's going off in our neighborhood doesn't keep sounding throughout the UW football game (which hasn't started yet).

Who would have sung the national anthem at Miller Park, had the Brewers hosted World Series games this year? Bigger cities seem to have multiple "hometown's own" major recording artists to choose from (even if it is the likes of the Backstreet Boys and Hall & Oates).

I remember Al Jarreau singing before one of the 1982 WS games. I'm sure I'm missing someone else. I doubt they'd have Joseph Attanasio sing each time.

(Is this random, pointless, and dumb enough?)

Was it the Thomson Twins, Simply Red or some other one hit wonder 1980's big hair, overproduced, made for MTV, band that came from Wisconsin?
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

The BoDeans? Although, I would not classify them as "big hair, overproduced".

I think the Thompson Twins were British.

Here's Wikipedia's "List of people from Milwaukee." Maybe in the event of a future World Series, the Brewers should expand the search to "Wisconsin's own" instead of "Milwaukee's own."

All I know is the lady that sang for Game 4 in Philly on Sunday was pretty bad. She really butchered it. She may have used the National Anthem words but the way she sang it was crap, it sounded nothing like it is suppose to.

How long can it possibly take for Dane County to cash a check? My wife got a speeding ticket in July and we sent in the check the next week and Dane County still hasn't cashed it. I am starting to think that they lost it. Her court date was in early October (She didn't attend because it wasn't required)

We sent the check to the address they told us to send it to. Anybody have any experience with Dane County/speeding tickets?

If you don't go to court or pay the ticket by that date it automatically assumes a guilty plea and they send you the information saying such and you get a bill. if you don't get a notification saying something like that they must have received the check and have it in their system as having received it. They may not have cashed it but they know they have it.

There's an 18 x 18 x 18 sealed box that's been sitting in our basement for a couple years now and I can't remember how it got there.

This morning my curiousity got to me, so I cut open the box to find a Wolfgang Puck convection oven my wife ordered from Home Shopping Network. The packing slip listed an order date of 4/17/05.
