Found this post on an Astros fan site:

Ok, I grew up as a Brewer fan, and still check out fan sites. They love the trade. Fiers is what he is. He's not going to blow you away, he's been up and down. Gomez has always had potential, some games looks amazing and sometimes makes boneheaded plays, especially on the bases. That said, I think the Astros have solidified themselves for a run in October and I can't wait!

Thanks! It was my post.

As a HUGE Gomez fan, I agonize, but understand this trade.

Struggle with this though...

OF Logan Schafer (recalled) and INF/OF Elian Herrera (selected) will join the team from Triple-A @skysox tomorrow.

Maybe Melvin mixed up the assignments. He's had a lot on his mind last 24 hrs. Brewers say Santana to Triple-A, rest to Double-A.

Gomez was really emotional. Really going to miss him.

My youngest daughter is going to be heartbroken - she absolutely loved him.

I wish they weren't sending those pitchers to Colorado Springs.

They're not. Biloxi is their destination.

Great. Thanks for the update. Seemed like odd assignments.

Carlos Gomez is an irreplaceable player. We will never have a player who loved the game as much as he did in my lifetime again...I am quite confident. Thankful every day and always looked at the positives. I would have been half happy if we extended him to a horrible deal just because he is that great of a guy to have around.

I couldn't have said this any better. Wish Carlos nothing but the best of luck with the Astros.

Funny. That's exactly how they're describing Brett Phillips. He sounds like a more disciplined Carlos Gomez. No knock on GoGo, just think we found a great replacement.

Absolutely love this haul of prospects. Big Fiers fan, but a solid 30 year old 4/5 starter now doesn't have to be held onto when you're playing for a few years down the road.

Agreed, very happy to see Fiers traded. Sold high on him just like they needed to do. Very smart trade all around for Melvin

I'm very excited about Phillips. I have liked AJ Reed for a few years too so when I heard 'stros I hoped he was included. I liked Reed since I heard about him as a two way high schooler but the Astros people treat him like he's untouchable now.

But getting Phillips is fantastic. Love the five tools in center. Phillips and Arcia as elite athletes is a great start to the next gen.

I would have liked a front line pitcher. I think that's what we do at the top of the 2016 draft.

Think Carlos Lee was included?

If El Caballo wants to suit up, I'll take him over Schafer. Heck, if he wants to send one of the cows off his ranch in his stead, that's fine by me.

These first year Biloxi fans are getting spoiled this year!

The ups and downs of this trade deadline have been so extreme. While there is nothing I would like to see the Brewers add more than top of the rotation arms, I will admit that overall I like this trade better than what transpired last night. I am really happy this is the direction the organization is heading right now. Lots of years of control of some good young players, including one that could become a fearsome left handed bat in the lineup for many years.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Meh. I don't get too excited over "a team's" top prospect. Just because they are top prospects for that team, doesn't mean they are top prospects in general. I looked at each of their pages on Baseball America and don't see that any of them were ever ranked in year end top 100 prospects lists. Someone mentioned that two of them were rank in this year's mid season top 100 prospect list. Can anyone provide a link to that? I'm not sure where to locate that.
