The good news is, this isn't usually an injury with lingering affects after surgery once recovery is complete. Without knowing more than what is in that article I would guess he'll be fine by spring.

Adam, that depends on what route they took. Was this a repair or a removal? We don't know that. Dwayne Wade's issue has had lasting effects

The Brewers haven't provided a timetable for Corey's recovery, but BrewCrewBall says that a typical recovery for meniscus surgery is six to eight weeks.

Rosiak added that there's no timetable for his return, though meniscus surgery usually takes something like 6-8 weeks to recover from so unless there's some unforeseen setback, Ray should be ready to go in Spring Training.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

No idea on what they did for Corey, but repair is the "normal" procedure. And certainly removal isn't great, but a baseball player has far less stress on his knees than a basketball player.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

That's unfortunate. At least it happened now, when he has the offseason to recuperate instead of wiping out a season.

He's a high character guy. I'm sure he will work his tail off rehabbing. But I feel for him having to go through all that.

Will this effect his speed? Seems speed is a large part of his game...

Man, I knew we shouldn't have drafted this guy! Get better Corey Ray! We'll see you in spring training.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I believe the bigger impact here is the lost playing /development time this fall and likely this winter. After rehab, would you feel comfortable sending him to winter ball?? I would not.

Yes, better now then later but I think this will torpedo any chance of Corey starting 2017 in AA. Considering his results last year, I would think a return to High A was in order and this seals it..

Shouldn't. Should get back to 100%. Only long term concern is reinjury.
