For those not paying attention, the Badger women at 31-1-2 have been #1 all year and should have a good run in March.

They are so good. I have never been to a womens game, but I have often talked about taking my daughter.  I need to do a better job of getting her there to see a game.

In other news, our local high school girls team is in the sectional final tonight.  Im hopeful they can win and make a trip to state.  I coach a handful of them in tennis, so I will try to tune in via livebarn or youtube.

W tonight keeps the hope alive

Didn't see that one coming.

Maybe they can return the favor for what Ohio State did in Madison last year in the playoffs

They actually generated some offense tonight and buried a couple nice shots on goal. Almost looked like a different team for a night at least

Sickening.  Finley misses an empty netter that would have put the game away.  Then OSU comes down and ties it.

They won't survive that.

5 on 5 ot instead of 3 on 3.

Ah.... Better. Not that they have great odds of scoring even at that.

While the effort is always pretty decent the lack of scorers has just killed them this year.

22 out of 37 games they scored two goals or less.

They actually finished third in the league in shots per game(62.7) but sixth in the league in goals per game(2.92).

It seems like goal scoring is either a skill you have or you don't and you can improve it a little bit but the really good goal scorers flash early in their career.

This team would have been quite good if Whitelaw and Lucius had stayed. Strammel seemed to improve with his move and I see Stange filled up the stat sheet this year in Omaha as well.

It feels so comfy and natural to be in the midst of yet another late-season Minnesota Wild fade. An NHL hockey tradition unlike any other. Injuries have bitten them most definitely - losing Kaprizov for as long as they have is brutal. BUT, this is literally their Legacy as a franchise since I've followed them since their inaugural season. They just never have the horses to compete with the Best. The pain is real.

I was just having this conversation after my game last night with the boys.  It would be nice to see the Wild be successful, but it just never happens.

I feel this. Very real. I will always follow them - I owned a home on the Bluffs across from XCel for the first 6 years of their existence. BUT, they always feel strapped and thin of the needed horses. They have no real shot without the threat of Kaprizov. It just feels like another inevitable first round defeat as they sink into a WC road series.

If those 3 stayed they might have had 8-10 more wins.

I have no doubt.  Without looking - they were like 3 and 10 and 2 in OT games.  That is shockingly bad. And that doesn't include any other 1 goal games.
