It's just another game ... but man oh man would it be nice to hit around their prized hog.

Same lineup today other than Bandy getting the start and batting 8th. Who would have thought that Yelich and not Cain, Braun or Thames would be the guy missing extended time to begin the year. Baseball is just so unpredictable.

He isn't in the starting lineup, but the only member of the Brewers active roster with double digit at-bats against Darvish is Eric Sogard. He is 5-for-16 (.313) with two doubles against Yu. The only members that have hit home runs against Darvish are Hernan Perez (1-for-2, HR) and Christian Yelich (2-for-5, HR).

 

It's obviously doubtful we see Yelich today, but on the flip side the Cubs appear to again be without Rizzo.

Brewers' manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that he expects Christian Yelich to return to the starting lineup on Monday.

Yelich was held out for the third straight day on Saturday, and Counsell noted that he'll sit on Sunday as well. The club is still hopeful that he'll avoid a stint on the disabled list, but if he isn't ready to return on Monday, something has to give.

Looked safe on the steal attempt. Early, but surprised the Cubs didn't challenge that.
