Think it’s a bit much to ridicule Counsell and his pitching moves considering what this pitching staff as a whole has done so far this season.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Can we have a different backup than Bandy. He has literally zero orth on this squad.

Chacín really looked sharp and in control today. Let’s sneak one across here for him !

That called strike two against Yelich just completely changes the sequence of that at-bat. I usually don’t get overly fired up over called balls and strikes, but tonight has been more frustrating than normal.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Why on earth would Bandy pinch hit?

Yeah, really odd choice there with Perez and Braun on the bench.

Saladino also been swinging it well and runs, which is ideal to lead off an inning as well. Heck, Suter might have been a better choice.

You literally said a week ago that you were ready for a new manager. And I wasn't ridiculing him at all. Just was pointing out that it's not typically his style to ride a starter this late in the game and I was surprised, that was all.

I'm assuming Braun isn't available.

Bandy has had good minor league stats but it just hasn’t translated to good success in the majors. I think it’s time to see if we can sneak him back to AAA and see what Bethancourt can do in that role.

I like Taylor Williams a lot, but not sure I like him pitching for a second consecutive night when he is walk prone and a lead off walk could easily be the difference in this game.

Edit: For the record I wrote that before the actual lead off walk.

They've got calls off the plate on multiple occasions. Villar, Santana, Yellich all with rough calls against them. Then seems like our guys got squeezed a few times.

Not to mention a really inconsistent balls/strikes umpire.

I think its probably indicative that Counsell is trying to turn up the high leverage situations for William's up a notch.

Personally I couldn't care less if he sneaks back into AAA or not. If he does great. If not, won't be missed.

Already had Albers up as well. Given the Dbacks strong pen, one run here might end it. Also would have stuck to our lock down guys here.

I have no problem with what Counsell did. He wanted to bring Williams in against the bottom of their lineup. He was going to bring in Logan to face Peralta regardless.

For me it’s about depth. No one at AA is ready to move to AAA so it’d be nice to keep Bandy there to back up Nottingham.
