I'm only able to watch on gamecast right now, but a Santana line out and a Villar 7 pitch AB strike out. Without actually seeing them, that still seems like decent AB's.

Santana's was a little flare to SS. Not hit hard at all.

Santana didn’t line out. He got jammed and floated it to the SS. Villar saw some pitches, but just got blown away by the fastball.

That would’ve been one heck of a play there by Villar. Aguilar scoop that!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Santana's at bat was hardly a line out. It was a jam shot that Rosario had to back up on.

Give extra outs and this is what happens.

There's one for ya Sogard haters :)

A fly out???

Gamecast breaks down the batting average into a 9 square grid of the strike zone. Sogard is .125 or less in 8 of the 9 grids, but does hit .375 on pitches left exactly dead center in the zone....

Sogard flied out, what am I missing?

He was probably referring to the defensive play Sogard made to help get the Brewers out of the top of the 2nd.

No he made a great catch in foul territory, that's what I was meaning. I'm not saying I'm a huge Sogard fan or something but being new to this board I find he has been the recipient of a disproportionate amount of vitriol.

He had a 3/4 game vs the Cards in April. Outside of that he's hitting .068 on the season....

I think it's actually pretty proportionate.

OPS of .359 will do that, especially when you're still getting semi-regular ABs. You should have been here when Oliver Drake was here.
