I just don't know why Kratz has basically become our starting catcher.

 

Likely because Pina is not good either. Horse apiece.

 

.301/.343/.419/.762 in the second half and the far better defender. I don't think that's a tough call.

I don't understand it either. There really is no other reason why a journeyman like Kratz would be getting the playing time he is, other than Pina really just not being a very good player. Pina was hot with the bat in August, but has cooled considerably. Taking that ball off his mouth has seemingly had a negative effect on his game.

Even if we lose, it's not over, but with so few games game and none against the Cubs, it goes without saying that dropping a game to them at this juncture is highly damaging to any chance of winning the division.

14 guys in the pen and Jacob Barnes draws the assignment in a 1 run game. Even the Pirates looked shocked. It is another inexplicable decision you have to live with with Craig.

He looked like Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue. That’s why he didn’t see a lineup for awhile.

I'm not saying Pina is awesome but I think we can all agree he's far better defensively, and his 2nd half OPS is about 100 points better than Kratz. It is indeed pretty puzzling.
