The San Diego Padres have traded second baseman Luis Urias to the Milwaukee Brewers for outfielder Trent Grisham, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN.

Oh, can't say I am too sad after his last moment as a Brewer.

Wonder what for. This is either a sign they are going to go after a notable OF acquisition or Braun to 1B ain't happening.

This could very well be the highest his value is going to be ...

He also could blossom into a nice player that we will miss once Braun leaves, but I am reasonably ok with it pending the return.

Urias is a former top 20 prospect in all of baseball. Tools per mlb pipeline as follows: Hit: 70 | Power: 45 | Run: 50 | Arm: 55 | Field: 60 | Overall: 55

Major league ready, young, controllable middle infielder of the future for the crew. I like it a lot.

Seems like a head scratcher for SD. I know they don't really have a spot for Urias but I can't believe that Grisham was the best they could do. Even Lauer would seem to have more value than Davies due to age, control, and salary.

so with Keston, Arcia and Urias for 2B/SS, does that make Arcia tradable?

also, Lauer seems like he could be a decent back-rotation arm for cheap!

Um wow...I like Grisham but it seems like Urias is a pretty big get for him and Davies. Someone convince me otherwise.

"Luis Urias was No. 16 on @MLBPipeline's Top 100 prospects list in January 2019. He comes to the Brewers with 120 days of MLB service, so they'll get six years of control."

I'm not convincing you of nothin'.. ;)

Gotta be part of a larger plan. Will Stearns really enter the year with an unproven player like Urias as a starter? Or maybe he works as a UTL until he finds his footing in the MLB? I do see Arcia as expendable after this though.

I approve.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
