Curious as to whether or not we would have taken Mims if he was available.

My guess is we would have traded up for Mims if we really wanted him, and so Dillon would have been our pick either way.

If they go WR, Duvernay is an electric slot type. Gandy-Golden and Peoples-Jones really fit their athletic profile, though. And Collin Johnson is enormous (6'6"!!!)

My pick is Joe Reed, though. Big, strong receiver who is also a very good special teams player. But they won't take him.

Look for the highest RAS score for a position we don't really need... there is your 3rd round pick!

Steve Wirtel Long Snapper..Iowa State.. 9.88 RAS

I don't know much about Dillon, but I see his draft rankings ranged from about 90-140.

I'm guessing the team really liked him - and felt someone else would take him before we picked in the 3rd. But it's hard not to see him as a reach. But again, the team probably felt he wouldn't be there later on.

Otherwise, it seems like Baun or Jones or Logan Wilson would have been really good value - and would fill a big need. Jordan Elliot would have been a really nice value as well.

Will guess Niang.

Wanted a WR with one of top 3 but guys sitting here don’t really fit our mold. Duvernay and Hill both short slot guys.

Duvernay wouldn't be a bad pick if available. Not an ideal player - but at this point, none of these guys are.

Oops. I jinxed it.

I'll stand by it. Lacy was considered one of the top backs in that draft. But he was always considered a banger with good hands. His athletic profile was never high, which is why he lasted till the 2nd round, and it went downhill as he ate himself out of the league.

Maybe it's my own recency bias, but I feel like our recent track record with "athletes" (Quinten Rollins, Datone Jones, etc) has been quite bad.

Maybe Trautman

Was hoping they take a chance on Stephen Sullivan late at TE. LSU kid with all the physical tools. Longest arms and second fastest 40. Just no production at LSU. So many play makers on that offense though. Could be developed as a receiving TE.

Different regime.
