Gosh darn it, lol. The Bucks have tied the NBA record for 3's in a game with 7 minutes to go, but TNT's no longer showing the game because it's such a blowout, lol. Eleven different players on the Bucks have made a 3 tonight!

He's also much better finishing at the rim. If he can shoot 40%ish from 3 and score at the rim, it's definitely a blessing in disguise that trade didn't go through.

If he can shoot 40% from 3, he will be a star. His defense and intangibles are already outstanding.

Really disappointing effort. Up 13 in the 2nd half against a shorthanded Heat team without Butler, that's a game you need to put away. This one really takes a lot of the fun out of last night's big win.

 

I'm really trying hard to buy into the narrative that this is a better team than the last two seasons and we'll see it once they gel, but they are really not making it easy.

I understand going for the win with a 3 at the end there but the Mavericks passed up two opportunities to tie the game! The Bucks would have had only about 9 secs left on the second one they passed on to score. I would have rather have took my chances there with the tie and then defend.

Hate to say it but the question of whether Giannis is a good enough #1 to win a title is a bigger question for the Bucks than whether or not Middleton is a good enough #2.

What? Are you basing this on his "slow" start to the year? Help me understand your argument since he is coming off back to back MVPs and a DPOY award.

I'm basing it off of the fact that for the past two years, his weaknesses like free throw shooting and a jump shot have only improved minimally, if at all. All I hear from the talking heads is when he improves those parts of his game, he is going to be the best player in the league. But what if he already has reached his ceiling?

MVP doesn't equate to best player in the league. The player he is and has been has not resulted in a Finals appearance. If he doesn't improve his game, that's not changing anytime soon.

Okay, what would you like to use to evaluate best player or one of the best if MVP and DPOY are not useful to you? It sounds like you want to use playoff success, but I am sure you would agree there are some counter arguments here- like small sample size and team influence. Your argument would be like evaluating pitchers based off playoff wins and losses.

 

Could we use WS/48? If you want to argue VORP, I get that too- though that is negatively impacted by the minutes he is given by his coach. Either way, the stats seem pretty consistent with the eye test (MVPs).
