Huge, huge loss for the Bucs. He had evolved into Brady's 1A and 1B. The Artist formerly known as Mike Evans is made of paper mache at this point in his career, and as we saw last night, the rest of that WR corp leaves much to be desired. It's no wonder they are now ready to welcome Antonio Brown back with open arms. Dude is about to be peppered with 18 targets/game.

 

Brady absolutely laid Godwin out to dry on that play. There was nothing the defender could do. Hit him high ... penalty. Hit him low ... blown ACL. Just a terrible pass that put Godwin in a no-win position.

Was coming on here to post just this....early reports were just an MCL sprain that Godwin may have been able to get back for the playoffs (which I thought was a huge stroke of luck considering he's lucky to have any ligaments left in that knee after that hit), but this is a big blow to how Tampa plays offense. And yeah, Tom terrific led him right into trouble.

That's kind of the point. The world stops specifically only when Rodgers is seen yelling at someone and it becomes a 3-week soap opera about his body language. Nobody cares when it's Tom Brady or Dak Prescott, who also doesn't have 7 Super Bowls.

Something needs to be said on Rodgers MVP case that the offense is having long long drives this season running the clock and giving him less plays to put up big yardage. I don't know how many pass attempts he had yesterday but certainly not the 48 or so Brady took. When comparing the stats their needs to be some NBA type Per stat(I know Im not fully right but NBA fan would know)that Giannis is always atop off. I'd find it tough to believe Brady would be ahead of Rodgers in that stat.

I've had Waller, Renfrow, and Jacobs on my fantasy team this year so I've watched a fair bit of Raiders games. Derek Carr is not a good QB. I thought he was like a top 15-20 obvious starter at worst but I don't think so.

No I didn't think he was great but I thought he was at least a guy you wouldn't actively try to replace. After having watched him this year and especially tonight I think he is.

Baseball and basketball are easier to put a stat like that and line it up. With football that is rather hard to do. You would have to put weight on the outcome which could be tricky. I believe QB's should only get credit for the yards that they actually threw the ball and not anything that comes after the play. For example if a QB throws a screen pass and it goes for a big gain who really did all of the work?

 

Should the receiver on the screen pass get a higher percentage of putting the team in scoring position or does the QB as they threw the ball but that is about it. What about a receiver catching a 5-yard pass and then breaking tackles and going for a larger gain is that also something the QB should be credited for? To me the QB generated 5-yards and the receiver generated the rest so everything after the receiver catching the ball is on the receiver with the QB getting a lower percentage of the outcome.

 

That is extremely complicated to put together though it would be interesting to see.

That return reminded me of the one against us last week except with competent coverage units so it went for a loss of 2 like it should instead of a touchdown.

Probably due to the red zone issues. They were ridiculously good at getting TDs last year. This year not as much.

Yup, that's the big one. 58.9 Red Zone TD% this year (19th) vs 80% last year (1st). 2019 was 64% (9th).

 

If Crosby only missed 2-3 FG instead of 9 that would boost the points per drive this year another 0.15 or so too.

I think that's simplifying it too much though. there's qbs who consistently hit their guys in stride and give them opportunities to open it up for big plays and yards after catch, and then there's guys who might have decent completion percentage, but aren't hitting the receivers in places to provide opportunities for big plays.

 

a lot of those YAC come directly as a result of an accurate qb
