Probably and many players very well may decline rings in such instances. Of course they could always take it and then sell it if their career is that lowly and $15k is a lot of money to them. Dan Uggla is always a popular example. He was absolutely worthless in four games for the Giants and got a 2014 ring.

For a team that just won a World Series spending an extra $250k on rings isn’t the biggest deal in the world. The 2018 Astros gave out a staggering 1,300 rings.

I don't know if people are aware of this or not, but professional sports team do create different "tiers" of rings. Players and top brass get the primo rings. And then the ring quality drops precipitously from there, all the way down to the ticket sellers.

My cousin worked for the DBacks front office in 2001. He worked in media relations. He got a ring. It's pretty nice, but not even close to what the big-wigs got. I know another friend who worked in the ticket office. His ring is even more simplistic (think Green Bay Packers Super Bowl I ring.)

I think it's great that teams do that.

Are you referring to a different design altogether? I know they only do real diamonds and other gems for the players and top execs/owners, but I wasn’t aware they changed anything else with the ring. Even the rings without the real diamonds are a few hundred dollars apiece to purchase.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Yes, I have seen three different designs (although they’re all similar-ish.)

This was 2001, though, so things may be different now.

Totally agree if the do you have to think their mojo will be down especially if having to face the cards in oct

The Brewers wouldn't have to face the Cardinals until the NLCS. Cardinals would have to get past the Dodgers and Giants in some order first. Pretty tall order.

why? the season series between the two clubs is currently tied at 7 with 5 games left to play, and the Brewers are currently 9.5 games better than the Cards in the standings?

I get the frustration losing a couple games recently - but some people just can't help finding a ledge to jump off no matter what...

Right. I'm as frustrated as anyone that the Brewers haven't been able to put things thing to bed yet, but it will happen, likely soon. And hopefully those who are afraid of something terrible happening will be able to look back and see that they were making much ado about nothing. Right now my frustration level is about a 7 or 8/10. But my fear level is a 0/10.

My Dad's birthday is coming up with the family getting together Saturday and I want to buy a NL Central Champion T-shirt for him. That is my current frustration.

I think the classic ‘be negative and talk about why they aren’t going to win it all so I don’t get my hopes up’ is going strong these days.

If they lose tomorrow there is a real chance they don’t win the division.

Cards have only Cubs and Brewers rest of the way. They absolutely can win all of those. Brewers take 2 of 3 from Mets and get swept by Dodgers.

That’s it. Lose division by a game. Anyone worried? Yes?

Worried about not winning the division? Not at all.

Worried about helping to propel the Cardinals to another deep playoff run and possible world title? Absolutely.

If we haven’t clinched by Sunday, but the magic # is at just 1…a little.

If the magic # is 2 or 3 on Sunday, yes.

Am I worried that the Cardinals will win 22 games in a row to end the season? No

Odds of the Cards clinching a WILD card while we are in St. Louis are real, however.

What are the chances the Brewers defeat the Cardinals to win the division but the Cardinals clinch the wild card in the same game because someone else lost? Can both teams celebrate after the game?

I believe that's in violation of The Cardinal Way.

15%? We probably clinch this weekend. They probably clinch against us, though, next week.

The greatest Brewer to ever play 1B and SS!

You know, this is why we are stuck at 3 for so long! And also why the Cardinals are making their run, just like in 2011.
