A bunch of people are putting UW in their top 10 which I guess is correct given their schedule and quality wins but feels way too high to me. They've gotten some luck in the close games.

KenPom agrees with you. Has UW as 10th luckiest program in D1. Usually tenpo-free ratings overrate the Badgers a bit too, so that seems right to me.

The big positive: Badgers are very balanced. Top 40 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Not elite in any category but good in just about all of them.

The Badgers under Dick Bennett, Bo Ryan, and Greg Gard always seem to be the total is greater than the sum of the parts type of team. But yes, I think top 10 seems too high. If they had another 3pt shooter, maybe? Or better offensive balance at least.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

The record, schedule, and quality of victories says they're ranked right around where they should be.

3 pt shooting needs to be better (like, a lot better).

My favorite player, Wahl is 0-17 and they have been winning. Good sign.

Probably a good sign that he shouldn't be out on the perimeter chuckin up 3's.

He has 17 attempts in 15 games, so he isn’t exactly chuckin up 3’s out there. He needs to shoot open 3’s when he has them (and needs to start making some) to keep the D honest - he shot about 28% last year so he’s shown he does have the ability to actual make some too.

Yeah, agree with this in terms of resume for sure. They have a top 10 resume. CBB is weird with results-based and predictive metrics. The Badgers being top 10 in the former and top 30 or so in the latter makes sense to me.

The NET, which mixes results and predictive metrics, has them 22. Splitting the difference almost exactly.

I mean is Wisconsin actually a Top 10 team? No, but neither is probably half the current Top 10. Early season you nudge out a lot of wins, pick up a few big wins, and avoid losses...that gets you up the rankings pretty quick.

Yah, they have been incredibly lucking to have every close game, minus one, go their way. Reality could swing the other way and come back down to earth...or it may be a characteristic of the team.

Nice win over a top 25 team when Johnny D didn't play well at all. It was gonna happen sooner or later and the rest of the guys rose to the occasion.

You need to wait a bit longer to post that. ;)

Ok. Good win. good team win.

Much better...

Very nice win.

This is an easy team to like.

I've been tempering my enthusiasm a bit. After today I'm pretty sold. Davis has been carrying the team, even on his poor shooting nights. Today the team picked him up. It's nice to know it's more than just JD and "a bunch of guys".

that tattooed center for OSU likes to throw his elbows around.

There's been a ton of guys throwing elbows this year in the Big ten.

At some point somebody's going to end up with a broken nose or worse

Wahl finally makes a 3 and goes 2-4. If he can get those jumpers to drop it makes everything so much easier for this team. They just keep winning, really fun to watch after last years squad.
