From the media notes, it appears that CF Jackson Chourio will bat second in Wisconsin (after LF Tristan Peters). That’s a nice 1-2 combo up-top.

And SS Eduardo Garcia also looks poised to return to action for Carolina, despite leaving Friday’s game early.

The Mudcats travel to Fayetteville tonight where OF Hedbert Perez will take over in center field for the recently promoted phenom, Jackson Chourio. Chourio's steady presence will be sorely missed in Zebulon. Taking the mound is RHP Alexander Cornielle, who in three starts in July to date has a 2.12 ERA, 17 IP, 4 ER, 5 BB, 16 K, 0.210 BAA, and a 1.06 WHIP. Let's hope we get another good one!

Boy, that Timber Rattlers outfield just got a major facelift. That's a formidable High-A trio right there. LHP Russ Smith looks to build off his best month in High-A to date: 3 GS, 16 IP, 4 ER, 14 H, 1 HB, 4 BB, 18 K, 0.237 BAA, 1.13 WHIP, 2.25 ERA. Let's hope he brings his 'A' game and we get some Chourio bombs!

Can RHP Victor Castaneda regain his pre-injury form? It's been quite the struggle since his return from the IL - 16 runs in 16 innings of work since his June 23rd return - yowch! Here's hoping he throws his best pre-injury stuff tonight. This Shuckers lineup continues to inspire confidence from me - lotta hot bats (at varying times throughout 2022) waiting to mash.

RHP Tyler Herb will take the hill for the Sounds as they face the White Sox's Charlotte Knights in the opener at Horizon Park. Our current makeshift Sounds outfield will be Whitley in center, Wilson in right, and Hiura in left. No more Almonte. No more Dahl. It's a merry-go-round for manager Rick Sweet. Mario Felciano gets the start behind home plate. Let's hope for some more fantastic work from the always steady Brice Turang.

Coming off a ho-hum home series versus the Louisville Bats, the Sounds will look to get back to their winning series ways. Let's Go!

INF/OF Yeison Perez with another 2-for-4 game today. He hit his 8th double and grabbed a walk to boot. He's now hitting 0.329 with a 1.094 WHIP in 85 AB's.

Zavi Warren with a 102 mph blast over the wall in right field scoring Darrien Miller who opened with a full count walk. Great contact. 2-1 Rattlers now in the bottom of the second. Too many 1-run losses lately. Great to see Zavier get some results!

LHP Russ Smith really needs to work on control. He loses it all too often at present. Coming into the sixth, he had walked three batters. One of these came across home plate in the first inning. In the sixth, he hit a batter up 0-2 in the count. What happened next? He hung a change-up and it got absolutely crushed over the wall in left field. 4-3 T-Rats now. Two down. Still the Kernels' half of the sixth.

In classic 2022 Shuckers bullpen fashion, RHP Arnaldo Hernandez took RHP Victor Castaneda's best outing since his return June 23rd and gave the lead right back. Leading 3-1, it's now 3-3. Arnaldo walked a batter in and got the force out with the bases juiced for the second time in the inning. Lotta tight contests tonight. Let's hope the bullpens can find their stuff and bring some 'W's into the post-game locker rooms.

The T-Rats are risking losing their 8th game in a row tonight. Another one-run loss looking right at them. After Hobie Baker blew the lead, the T-Rats led off their half of the eight getting runners on the corner and nobody out. Darrien Miller was mysteriously caught off guard and picked off first. Ethan Murray and Zavier Warren both struck out. It's not pretty right now for the T-Rats. They're going to have to find something that has been mostly absent in the second half. At least we'll see Jackson Chourio bat again in the ninth. That's my take ?
