Despite the hard-luck loss, it is nice to see Rodriguez was dealing. If you want to see how to raise a system up without a high draft pick, look to the year 2021 with the Brewers. Chourio and Mendez heading a deep signing class and Frelick, Black and Rodriguez leading a draft class with a few other very intriguing names as well.

He was fantastic tonight. I'm saying it in my report. BUT, it's worth saying here: He already has the savvy and the repertoire of AAAA Josh Lindbolm. Where does he go from here as a 20-year-old? I don't know, but, man, this is one of the most exciting developments in 2022 by an easy measure. He's a master of the off-speed game. Truly. He suffered two full count walks. And, well, Robbie Baker couldn't hold it (he had retired 19 consecutive batters coming in) - he gave up a simple lefty knock to CF, struck a guy out, then balked the winning run in (ouch!), before striking out the final batter. The Wisconsin bats were anemic.

2020 as well - five draft picks, and got Mitchell and Wiemer out of it.  Two years later both are in AAA.

Like how a certain LA team that claims a certain shade of blue does year in and year out?

And then you get guys like Anthony Perez and...I don't know how good he is, but he's 6'3, he has some FILTHY looking stuff and he's only 20.

By next May you could legitimately have Chourio, Turang, Mitchell, Frelick, Weimer, Black, Gasser, Ruiz, Misiorowski, Brown Jr, Quero, all guys who could get mentioned in top 100 prospect lists based on how they finish the year. I really have no been this excited about the Brewers farm system since Weeks, Hardy, Prince, etc...and that was a top heavy system. This is a much deeper system.

In that interview with Sweet, I thought the most compelling thing he said was that they "know he can play CF". As in, he kind of emphasized that opinion. Made me wonder if they are loosely planning on him taking over the Jace role.
