It's getting closer and closer to bring up a bunch of guys to see what you have for next year. Not a bad idea to get their feet wet now as opposed to the start of the year. I don't really care about service time issues. If they look the part, you should be trying to buy out their arbitration years anyway.

It's sad to say, but there isn't a positional player on this team I care for. I can't see any of them being here beyond year 6. Not saying they all should be moved immediately as Adames, Tellez, Renfroe are fine but none of them are franchise cornerstones. Adames you could debate especially if he bounces back next year.

I really don't care, actually. But to say crap like Burnes, who has statistically been the best pitcher in baseball since 2020, is a "supposed ace" just flies so far against the face of reality that it's hard to ignore.

There seem to be a lot of things that you find hard to ignore if they don’t line up with your preferences.

When I referred to “one of the supposed aces” I was talking about Woodruff and today’s game and you jumped to the conclusion that I was including Burnes. That must be because I wasn’t excited about his inability to get through the sixth inning on Thursday after being presented with a rare 5-0 lead and forced the Brewers to use 4 relievers to close that game out.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Honest question: based on what they’ve shown this year are there any position players you’d actually want to see return in ‘23?

Caratini? Jace Petersen? Maybe Tellez and Renfroe? Adames is fine as a shortstop but he went from budding superstar to a guy who they easily let walk with six years service time.

There isn't one guy I care to have back. I'm ok with seeing Adames, Hiura as the full time DH, and Renfroe come back but wouldn't care if they didn't

It will be fun to read the upcoming posts the rest of the year about we got -insert bad team- coming up time to go on a run

or there is a reason they are blah blah blah games behind us

I'm good with that except Hiura being the full-time DH. I don't see him suddenly being viable versus lefties.

So when do we start comparing Mark Attanasio to Herb Kohl?

I so wish he would sell to someone willing to spend enough to win. How can you not be infuriated when he said on opening day how McCutchen wasn't in the budget and that they had to expand the payroll to sign him like it was the type of move to put us over the top.

How about we give him the rest of the season as an everyday player to find out.

When your goal is to make the playoffs as the final seed and, if lucky, winning 1 playoff series then adding Cutch was likely more than "they" needed.

They had an opportunity with this pitching to win a championship and totally ignored the offense which was nowhere near good enough.

I just don't remember the Phillies coming to AmFam this year, but then again there have been alot of forgettable games this year.

That was a forgettable series that came in the middle of the Brewers 8 game losing streak that included 3 losses to the Padres that gave both teams the season series.

The Phillies series started with Hader blowing a save by surrendering two 9th inning HRs (his first blown save of the season) and concluded with 10-0 and 8-3 pastings.

The Brewers have really been unlucky the last few weeks.

Just about every pitcher that faces them has one of his best outings of the season.

<irony alert?> heheheheh

The good news is the Brewers have four more games remaining than San Diego and are two games out of the last wild card spot, so the Brewers ,control their own destiny for the 2nd wild card, but yeah they need to start winning more than twice a week.

Do you honestly think that the Brewers making the playoffs would make this a successful year? They would have approximately a 5% chance of winning any series. RIGHT NOW I would have to say the Cubs, Pirates, Giants and more likely the Reds have more talent than the Brewers.

Andrew begins something new!

An inning where we score a few!

Whew!

Let's drub the Cubs!

If you keep rhyming, I'm gonna do some criming.

Attanasio Priorities:

1) getting a 10% dividend every year.

2) budget to achieve 1.

3) have a team that maximizes revenues.

4) make the playoffs to increase 3.

Don't see a championship in there.  It's all a business for him.  The lip service that they will spend when needed has been disproven by their actions the last 2 years with once in multiple-generations pitching.
