Is there any MLB rule on when a game lirneup has to be turned in??

I have no idea, BUT Craig Counsell almost always submits his lineup later than the opponent does, FWIW.

I don’t know if there is a specific time requirement but I have seen that they have to be submitted to the league and processed before they are posted for the players or released to the press. That usually happens 2-3 hours before game time.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Padres have the second strongest SOS remain.

I think you can cut it out now. That fact remains, but the Brewers actually have to win games too.

Would be helpful if we actually scored runs tonight. Cause I sure hope Zach Davies gets curb stomped as he's a piece of crap human being.

I hope the Brewers score lots of runs and win but what makes Davies a bad person. He certainly seemed alright when he was on the Brewers.

Completely ghosted his wife.

I know this has been a daily barb, but I think we all know that the reason the Padres remaining SOS is high is almost entirely because of 3 series against the Dodgers.

One of those series is this weekend, and if the Brewers don’t gain any ground while playing the DBacks, their already plummeting playoff chances (now about 33% on both 538 and Fangraphs) are going to drop significantly more.

It’s hard to know how the Dodgers will be approaching the later series because they will probably have the #1 playoff seed sewed up. They may coast in like the Brewers did last year, giving regulars more days off and not pushing the pitchers too hard.

They play the Cardinals and Mariners, too. And the White Sox and Giants aren't exactly cakewalks. It's a tougher schedule than the Brewers', for sure.

Everyone thought Johnny Depp was a pos because of an article by his ex too. I'll refrain from judgement here.

The Brewers play 4 against the Cardinals, series against both the Mets and Yankees and a DH against the Giants.

if you line up the remaining schedules side by side and cross out the common or similar opponents, the real differences are (1)  the Padres series against the Dodgers vs the Brewers series against the Reds and Marlins, and (2) the Padres playing the White Sox and Mariners vs the Brewers playing the Mets and Yankees.

The only advantage the Brewers really have is in the first group, and the Padres have a slight edge in the second group.

If the Padres just win 3 or 4 against the Dodgers (who may be coasting) it really puts the pressure on the Brewers to start sweeping series against the lesser opponents, something they haven’t been able to do for a long time.

This weekend will be interesting.

I would say that White Sox and Mariners vs. Mets and Yankees is more even than you might think given how the Yankees have played since their historic start.

EDIT: Sorry, completely read past the "slight edge" part.

The Mets are one of the best teams in MLB and the White Sox are under .500 playing in a weak division.  So, even if you think the Mariners and Yankees are about even the Padres have an edge in group 2.

Unless and until the Brewers show some signs of life it doesn’t matter anyway.

This..   isn't really at all the same situation but point taken.

You are correct. Hence, my edit. Brewers do have to piece together some wins for any of this to matter.

I'm aware of that. Interesting lineup, got it earlier than I thought we would. We mjght have a chance of winning tonight.
