Right, because I initially responded to one of his posts sarcastically and not the other way around.

No question about that. In this case I’m not sure what his point is.

Even if he wants to argue that the Marlins offense is not as bad as the Pirates despite what R/G says, what difference does it make? They obviously have a horrible offense and Alacntara is clearly more deserving of the Cy Young Award than Burnes this year.

Burnes did what he had to do tonight.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Alright two back in the loss column with five to play and six for philly is doable.  Let's go!

My fingers are cross. Let’s go Brew Crew.

I suspect he’s saying the Marlins aren’t as bad as the Pirates. Miami is 25th in baseball in wRC+, which is probably the best metric of overall offense we have. They’re bad but they’re not the worst in baseball.

Throw a post out there like the “the earth is round”.    Let’s see what happens

The Phillies magic number to close out the Brewers is 5.

The Brewers magic number to close out the Phillies is 7.

Put another way, the Phillies and Brewers have a combined 11 games remaining. 7 of them have to go the Brewers way, and the Brewers can only control 5 of them. They would be well advised to take care of those 5 and hope for the Phillies to hand them the other 2. Counting on a struggling Nats team and a coasting Astros team to deliver them is not ideal.

I would say that it is generally round but not a perfect sphere.

Hopefully that would not be too controversial.

And when did I say that Corbin was more deserving of the Cy Young this year than him? Pretty sure that I didn't. What I said is that Corbin is still the reigning Cy Young winner. As Brock stated, the Marlins offense is bad but it's not the worst in the league by virtually every metric.

Actually it's an ellipsoid. I would know, as I majored in astronomy.

Mitchell has really been hot lately. He's providing what I hoped Frelick could have done, if he were called up. It will be good when they're both on the same team again.

Yes, but not perfectly round due to its rotation which causes it to "bulge".

I think it's round enough to call it round, for the laypersons.

It doesn't have to be perfectly round to be "round." Definitions from Oxford American English Dictionary:
round
| round |
adjective 1 shaped like or approximately like a circle or cylinder:

2 shaped like or approximately like a sphere

From a dictionary standpoint, yes. From a scientific standpoint, not exactly.

You look at his ABs, and you just KNOW he's going to make more consistent contact down the road. And he's hitting .300 or whatever it is NOW. Throw in the speed, and I'm excited.

And yeah, Frelick looked for all the world like he was in front of him for a callup. Just a lot to look forward to.

There's probably no thing in the known universe that's perfectly round, if you measured it precisely enough. The semantics used in those articles is based on a faulty (implied) definition.

FWIW, in grade school science I learned the Earth wasn't perfectly round but wasn't familiar with the word "ellipsoid". So I shared my newfound info by saying it was kinda dumpy.

I think it's wrong to defend the Miami offense in any way. I also think it's wrong to assume Houston is coasting. If you guys think THIS is a contentious fan board, boy could I show you some examples.....

Again, I majored in astronomy, so I think I would know the earth's shape. You can argue about whether such a thing as "perfectly round" exists, but the earth is not perfectly round. It is an ellipsoid/spheroid.
