bunting with Renfroe just stupid. taking one of your chances to score away.

urias strikes out, making the bunt utterly pointless.

This group needs to go away. It's been a good run lately as a fan and even this year, they're around 10 over .500 which for most of my life would have been a godsend. But they're miserable to watch. They could be sitting OK right now without choking two games away to Miami in the final week of the year.

Even if they win they need to sweep and see Philly drop 2.

It's fine, I'll be back in the spring...but this year's team gives me ZERO "what could have been" feeling. It's been very consistent watching how they lose.

They are who we thought they were. This is the appropriate ending.

If they played in any other division they'd have a losing record.

We are now supposed to revel in the moral victory of getting two bunts down, especially after a game some weeks ago when Caratini tried and failed to do just that. It’s just that I recall the lesson being to only have certain players bunt, and to preferably do it when the guy on second base is a burner. Obviously Counsell (and perhaps the players too) saw the lesson differently than I did…

I don't think that's true. They are just an entirely boom or bust offense. They have a decent record against winning teams. Conversely when they go into offensive dryspells they can get embarrassed by the worst teams in baseball because they literally can't score.

And that would be now.

Please either score 2 or just lose.  Don’t make me watch another inning of this garbage.  Yes I know I don’t HAVE to watch but I can’t turn it off.

Unenjoyable is exactly right. There was a team in 2012 I think that finished barely over .500, but it was at least fun to watch that team hit.

The 2012 Brewers were left for dead at the deadline, ended up selling, and somehow crawled back and nearly claimed a Wild Card. That was a run ride.

2017 was one of my favorites, they weren't quite there but were finally starting to see the fruits of the rebuild in a season when we expected very little.

Even 2016, which was a straight rebuild year, was enjoyable to me far more than this season from an entertainment perspective.

We probably didn’t even need to call up the kids (Turang, Frelick, Ruiz). Just throwing guys like Mathias, Almonte and Singleton into the mix might have given the offense a modicum of life. Can’t know if you never try…

To bad they werent eliminated a week ago so they could have gotten some ABs for the young guys.
