Milwaukee is hosting a massive high level ultimate frisbee tournament this weekend, and it's probably going to be the hottest Labor day weekend ever.

I just hope the players survive the weekend, and get the level of competition they want.

Is it the 2023 USAU Triple Crown Tour Pro Championships at Uihlein?

12 calls per day from scammers. Guess I put my information somewhere I shouldn't have, because they even have my correct age. Sometimes I'll pick up just to play around with them. Last time I needed them to talk fast because my wife was in labor.

Android's "only ring if in contacts" doesn't work, so I've at least changed the ringtone from all my contacts and now I'll know the difference without having to pick up the phone.

Depending on who your carrier is they should have an app if you have a smart phone where you can block numbers or have them be silent.  I know AT&T and T-Mobile have this and I am fairly confident that Verizon does also.  The smaller carriers probably not.

Pixel phones have a built-in phone screening assistant for this. It detects if it is possible spam and if the assistant is not sure, Google will answer and give a transcript of what they are saying and also give you options of things to ask. I think Google's engineers did a fantastic job at creating this feature. It's also not a new feature as I've had it since 2018 (when I got my first Pixel phone).

We just moved this spring. It's now HS football season, and I can keep track of the action on the field through the PA announcer, whether I want to or not.

The stadium is like a half mile away. I didn't think it would carry as well as it does.

Despite that I still get told that me charging $4 for a hot dog is a rip-off and I should be charging $1 because they can go home and make one for 30c. My bun and condiments alone cost me more than 30c, though I'm not going to argue with them and just tell them to go ahead and do so.

Tell your customers you're on BrewerFan & they're also paying for the scintillating conversation you provide while serving them. Then bump the price up to $6.00.

A hot dog at Dairy Queen is $3.29. A&W is $3.59. Culver's sells a corn dog for $3.49. I think your $4 price is just fine and I'd wager you serve a better quality hot dog than those places. Unless you're just serving a basic Oscar Mayer hot dog, then it's a rip off LOL.

Went in to Burger King today for lunch for the first time in probably a year.  Not sure why, I have always loved their burgers and fries.  Anyway, $11.49 for a Whopper meal is absolutely ridiculous.  I can go into Red Robin and get a burger, endless fries and drink for that cost. (except, there would be a tip involved, so technically, what I said isn't true)

Anyway, hard to believe that is the cost when pre-pandemic, that same meal was $6.00.

People keep saying that inflation will eventually go down, but even if that is the case, the costs will never drop again.  Once we start paying $12 for a fast food meal, there is no reason for anyplace to lower their prices because we will all be used to overpaying.

It's just crazy.

Skip the meal.  Soda and fries double the cost; Whopper on its own is $5.69.  If you need a soda, go to a nearby Speedway/Quik Trip and get a 30-oz soda for $1.29 or bring one with you.

Went to Five Guys earlier this year and it was $20.  Now, THAT is a rip-off.

The rate of inflation is what is going down. What you are describing is deflation and that is much worse than inflation.

Have you guys seen the price on Halloween candy this year?  Wait until you see that if you haven't already...

Whopper on it's own here in Appleton is $6.89.

Today if you spent one dollar, you could get a free cheeseburger.  Looked at their menu, and the cheapest thing was a soda for $1.89.  Why say spend a dollar to get the burger when there is nothing remotely close to one dollar on their menu.

Also, for years any size McDonalds soda was $1.00.  Then last summer it went to $1.29, now it's small $1.29, Medium 1.49 and large 1.69.

The problem is that meat is expensive. Part of that was because the cost of corn/grain was high and the other has been the droughts around the country.

My dad is a farmer and he is seeing the prices of corn, fertilizer and chemicals going down a lot. It will take a while but I am thinking you should see the price of meat start to go down a little bit early next year. (assuming things go in this direction)

The transition to what it seems everything being subscription-based or once free things now costing money bugs me. There are some journalists and columnists I read that were either laid off or chose to move on from the news/entertainment sources I frequent that still write the columns, you just have to pay for access. I get that they need income, but I only have so much I can shell out each month for a subscription. Take Deadspin/Defector for example. Deadspin was free to read, everyone fled for lots of legitimate reasons, now it's $8/month to subscribe to Defector.

Another example of what I mean is Disney. We are going to Disney World in a month, and I found that lots of perks for resort guests that were free in 2018 now cost money. Gone are the free airport transportation, fast passes, and, magic bands.

I had strep throat over the summer. Turns out a lot of people I know had it but never at the same time I did nor was I ever around someone who I know had it so I don't know where I got it from. That's not what's bugging me though. What's bugging me is that ever since then coffee has tasted disgusting to me. I've tried a bunch of different kinds and it all tastes sour and I can't take more than 2 sips before dumping the rest. I used to look forward to my morning coffee. It was one of the best parts of my day but now it's gone. That's bugging me.

All that may be true, but when the price of meat goes down, do you really think restaurants are going to drop their prices?

Hell no they won't!  Once the American people start overpaying for things, the market is set, and prices will never go back down.

Only coffee?  Did that happen with anything else?

Probably not but they will continue to offer "value menu" things. You can still get a decent meal for cheap money. If you want some of the "signature" items, they nail you.

If you are going to complain about something, do it while you are at the business so they can correct the issue.

I do social media/pr for my family's business and I constantly get stupid complaints about things that would have been easily fixable if they would have said something. I can't do anything about it when you are gone unfortunately.

Complaining about pricing won't matter, so doing that will just make you look like an idiot...lol
