Hey, I'll start.  For the umpteenth consecutive year, I have a Brewers wall calendar - the kind for which the players to spotlight are chosen months in advance of the actual year, which means there's always someone on the new year's calendar who is already off the roster.

The 2023 calendar starts off with Kolten Wong for January, Hunter Renfroe for February and Josh Hader for March. ?

I can kinda understand Renfroe/Wong since they were just traded, but Hader was dealt in August.

Please don’t say Burnes is April.

I got the same one for Christmas. I too had to laugh that about half the players featured aren't on the team anymore.

I have a picture from the store of the cover of People where it says Betty White turns 100.  She died before her 100th birthday.

why do restaurants give you the option of a specific pick up time for carry out if they are just going to make it 20 min before you get there?

You want your food to be sitting under a heating lamp?

Maybe I didn't word that clearly.

My assumption is that they will time it so the food is ready right around the time I ask that it be ready.

For example, I ordered lunch for me and my dad today. They had an option to have it ready ASAP or to have it ready at a specific time. I choose 12:00pm. They sent me a message at 11:40am telling me my food was ready.

That's interesting that it was done ahead of time. My wife used the "ready at a certain time" feature a couple times over the holidays and every time it was, in fact, not ready at the time requested and we had to wait.

I would actually prefer that since at least you're getting it hot even if you have to wait a little bit.

That makes more sense and is annoying.  I am guessing they had a big order come in and that took priority to finish at the time.  I guess it would have been better for that to be late than early.

I worked at a pizza place when I was in high school. The reason is simple. People have epic meltdowns and tantrums if it isn’t ready at their pre decided pickup time. If you want it at your lunch time 5-10 minutes late can be a third of your lunch time…huge problem. To avoid it getting lost or slowed down by an unexpected rush we made sure to get those orders done slightly early to avoid it being late and in case a mistake/problem occurred.

At a pizza place (at least where I worked) the warmers were really effective and if your food sat on the warmer longer it wasn’t really noticeable at all. With other types of food maybe not.

Also, those pre planned orders ahead of time are incredibly annoying and a pain to track time wise. People don’t walk around with alarms that say “start the order to be ready at 12:00” that came in two hours ago.

Marvel Movies.

The market has been saturated beyond belief.

I stopped trying to keep up, and imo, they became nothing short of boring special effect nonsense.

Too bad, I used to really look forward to their openings, but it's too much, I'm done.

I only watch the ones I am interested in.  Which is probably just Antman and Guardians of the Galaxy right now everything else is just a mess and horrible incoherent scripts.

My significant other is a massive marvel person…like huuuuge fan. So naturally I have accepted watching them and she started me off from the start (never watched one before).

I am trying hard…but I don’t like them . The storylines are strange and scattered…the middle of the movies are really boring and I pretty much doze off. Anyone familiar with the phases I just finished the the second avengers movie.

The only movie I have really enjoyed are the Iron Man movies and maybe the first avengers. The Thor movies have been really boring to me. Don’t line those at all.

I would rather they just get rid of the option to pick a specific time. Lesson learned for me. I won't be using it any more.

I liked most of the Avenger movies.  The first Guardians of the Galaxy movie was good more of an action comedy I guess than an action movie.  It is more of a nostalgia movie to be honest though with 70's and 80's references mostly.

The recent movies though are mostly garbage.  The recent movies have been extremely bad at setting up the characters and going through character progression.  If you want a breakdown of the Marvel Movies just watch Critical Drinker on YouTube.  He basically breaks everything down and where the plots make absolutely no sense at all.

This is a breakdown of Phase 4.  There is some colorful language used so don't listen if you are offended by that language.

When I order from Jimmy John's through the app, I get a notice that they got the order.  I then make my way over to pick it up.  I get a message the next day (if I'm lucky) saying the order is ready for pickup.  ?‍♀️

I watched a few of the recent movies in theater before starting from Phase I. She told me while watching those movies in theater they wouldn't make any sense until I watched from the beginning of the Marvel Movies. To be honest...I am lucky if I can get through an entire movie and not be confused about the plot.

The whole comedy part of the movies is fine to an extent...but seems really overdone. Blooper-like comedy in the middle of a big action scene seems like an interesting choice. But I guess that is a Marvel movie thing and just expected after awhile.

I wish Amazon Prime Two-Day Shipping were actually two days and not three weeks.

The streaming portion of the service only seems to exist to offer you crummy movies for free to get you to rent the better versions. And I think as long as you spend more than $35 you get the free shipping whether you have Prime or not. Why do I pay for this service, again?

My new bank's $5 monthly management fee and $2 paper fee also bugs me.

It used to be that we were doing the banks a favor by letting them profit off our money. Now I guess they're doing us a favor by holding it.

The free shipping is slower. Free…but definitely slower. They just wait days extra to fulfill it and ship it out.

If you are actually getting something 2-day prime guaranteed and it ends up taking longer you can complain.  Either the item is refunded (you get it still) or they extend your membership a month for free.

I frequently get offers to accept a later delivery, sometimes like 4-5 days, and they award digital rewards dollars as a credit that you can use towards Amazon's digital content. If you stack up enough of these digital rewards dollars you can use them to rent or buy movies on Prime Video at a discount or even for free if you have enough to cover the purchase price.

Not a bad trade off if you don't actually need the 2 day shipping. If you don't want movies you can opt for Kindle eBooks, Amazon Appstore apps or Amazon Music downloads.

One thing, they make it almost impossible to find your balance of accrued rewards. Below is a link that you can view your balance and see when rewards dollars will expire.

Depends on where you live.  If you live in a densely populated area in a building with a lot of people who have Prime or on the same block as a lot of people who have Prime, you get almost everything in 2-4 days anyway depending on which warehouse it's coming from because the trucks are always on your block.  I don't have Prime and I ordered a couple of things on Monday; they said delivery between Saturday and Wednesday of next week, but everything is coming tomorrow.  I can't think of a time when I ordered something from Amazon and it took more than 5 days to arrive.

I bought a physical Amazon gift card as a birthday present for my nephew and it came the next day.
