I'm loving this draft outside of the Reed pick. They are taking young freak athletes. Every pick is 22 or younger except for Reed(who literally turned 23 yesterday) and all are super athletic except for Reed(whose a good not great athlete)

I think Reed is really going to surprise you. Time will tell, obviously. But, he's a guy in the slot who is going to win to the catch point; has the PR wiggle and lateral agility to make guys miss; and has legit breakaway potential. The Packers had him timed at 4.37, btw. I have to think they see this is a much better player than Amari Rogers - well, because, he is a much better NFL football level prospect than Amari ever was.

** Check out that Kenny Clark-esque interior swim and sprint move in this last clip. Fun player.

Any chance when you post videos to limit it to 2 or 3 max? Really bogs down trying to load. Sat for over 1min waiting for this comment to load.

No offense at all, but when people only focus on positives and never talk about negatives I tend not to lean much on their opinion. This isn't a shot at you specifically but more of a general statement and it goes the other way too, if someone is constantly negative then I tend to tune them out as well

Are you sure it isn’t just your connection?  I’m not having any unusual load times for the threads with the videos and tweets they are posting.

I’m also enjoying the draft pick info so I don’t have to go sift through twitter on my own.

You're probably right since I use wifi. I just wouldn't mind it split it half on 2 posts with the scrolling space to move to the next post.

I always focus on the positives of Packers draft picks first. I let the negatives, so to speak, show themselves when they actually play a meaningful NFL snap.

To your point, however, he has negatives for sure. He's smaller - though, he does have 195 lbs which is 35 lbs heavier than when he first played at Western Michigan. He's not going to win in his cuts or as the route changes ie double moves - ie he's a bit stiff and those double moves tend to run flat as opposed to sharp. But, he's not going to need to go Outside so I personally don't worry about this. Can he? Sure. But, that's not using him effectively. He should play 80% in the slot, imho. Where he'll win in the slot is with his strength, aggression, catch point etc. He doesn't have anywhere near the agility in those slot routes like a JSN. He just doesn't have that in-route wiggle. But, because of his return prowess, he still know how to make guys miss.

Anyhow, take it or leave it. It makes no difference to me.

I can accommodate your request. No problemo. I'll try and split them into two posts in the future for you.

Well, this is interesting:

So, it would appear they view him strictly inside or, in the least, that's where they want him to start out.

Sean Clifford sucks and will be 25 this season. I hate this pick

I am so with you here. I am trying to let it go. Let's do it...there is extremely little to be excited about here. LOL.

Wicks is a great pick. Really athletic and really young(will turn 22 this summer). Averaged over 20 ypc. Has issues with drops but that's common among young WRs. Really like this pick

From someone who really knows tape, Ben Fennell:

This is from my friends at Walter Football

lionsb_logo.gif packersb_logo.gif
Lions acquire No. 45 (Brian Branch) from Packers for Nos. 48 (traded to Buccaneers), 159 (5th)
It's odd that the Lions and Packers engaged in a trade together, but then again, Detroit made a deal with the Vikings a year ago. The Lions won that trade, and they prevailed in this one as well. They had to leap the Patriots to land Brian Branch, who easily could have been drafted in the 20s. Detroit landed a steal in Branch and only gave up a fifth-round pick to do so. The Packers can be praised for picking up an extra fifth-round selection, but they allowed their toughest competition in the division to acquire a talented player - one who will be intercepting No Cookie Jordan Love, no doubt. This is why I'm grading the Packers poorly.

Grade for Lions - A+
Grade for Packers - D

This is what drives me nuts about all of the draft converge, the Packers clearly had Reed much higher on their draft board and got him. I wanted Branch too at 45. I just can't get too worked up about any pick, especiailly since most I really only saw a couple times play live at best.

not too much of a fan of this pick. I think they still need to get a vet, so Clifford is at best a developmental 3rd stringer, with little upside. I will though go back to my statement above, its a middle of the 5th round pick and like the 12th QB off of the board.

I think best case scenario is ol' QB Matt Flynn. If they get that type of production and performance there, I'm won over. As you've seen, however, I have sincere doubts.

Are you just focusing on the negative? 😉

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

So will the first pick in the 7th be a Kicker?

Brooks is another really good pick. One of the weirdest players in the draft, just missed out on being on my top 102 board but getting him in the 6th is great value.
