I don't see it, Wilson's market value will be similar to Cousins and they will just stick with him if they are going to spend big money on a QB. I do wonder if the market for veteran QB's will start to fall a bit. The second tier guys like Jimmy G and Carr probably are getting paid more than they are worth and so many teams either think they have their QB or intend to draft one.

How quickly Wilson went from being viewed as one of those star QBs to now being released.

I think he'd be an upgrade, but if the Vikings re-sign Cousins they can take some of the void money coming up this year and push it off. If they sign Wilson, they'll just be starting that cycle over again.

It'd be smarter for them to go into rebuild mode or just go with Dobbs for a year(IMO).

The Browns still have a shot at the #1 seed in the AFC.

I mean I find myself wondering in an era without Tom Brady is going with talented enough game manager type QBs at a much lower rate a viable strategy for getting into super bowls here and there? The amount of draft capital to take QBs at the top of the draft, frankly doesn't seem like it works out well all that often. Build your O and D-lines with other skill positions as you can and then trying bites of the apple with mid range QBs?

Flacco for another SB MVP?

It's a nice story but he is doing it against mediocre to bad teams. And he's thrown 8 INTs in 5 games. They might win a game in the playoffs but I don't see them going to the SB.

Dan Campbell is way too aggressive for his own good. He should've kicked the extra point after the penalty.

Exactly...

Campbell crosses over the line frequently from gutsy to stupid. In no universe should he have still been going for 2 from the 7 yard line after the penalty.

He didn't just cross the line he took an excavator to it.

That was kind of an entertaining bad game with both teams making lots of costly mistakes.  Just barnes, I think it was, on that 95 yard td, what are you doing looking like a CB trying to tackle a runner.

There is going to be a lot of discussion around controversy with this 2 point conversion.  Looks like there is video of the lineman trying to report as eligible, but the ref ignores or doesn't hear him.  Could be moot as I'm not sure the lions were in a legal formation anyway, but its hard to see.

Based on Campbell's press conference only 1 lineman can report as eligible is what he was told, and they made it official as the other guy.

But then the "rules expert" contradicts that lol.  This whole thing is crazy.

Looks like Campbell tried to get too cute trying to get two linemen to report as eligible on the play. Can't say I feel sorry for him. Too much can go wrong calling that play and that's exactly what happened. Then he compounds the mistake by still going for it from the 7. Absolute stupidity. As I said, too aggressive for his own good. I almost expect him to lose their first playoff game because of his decision making. Going for it early in the game when you just got stuffed three times from the five yard line wasn't very smart either.

that was a brilliant play call IMO. All it required was for the ref to use his listening skills. It wasn't that complicated. He completely whiffed the call.

I will say that after the first penalty you should just kick the EP and go to OT. That was dumb. Maybe should have just kicked the EP in the first place but they must have loved the play call.

Video evidence sure seems to dispute what the ref said.  I not sure 70 got within 3 yards of the ref while Decker is right next to him.

He'll probably get a reprimand from the league office and 200k check from Vegas this week.

BTW this is the same crew that officiated the Chiefs-Packers game, and we all know what happened on that final drive.

Now it's being reported that Bad Allen's officiating crew is expected to be demoted and out of the playoffs.

My piece together of all the data points and what happened is as follows.

Campbell tried to get too cute on the reporting for eligibility.  Even though the ref will go and tell the defense, he still sent out 3 lineman in an attempt to confuse the defense, but it just ended up confusing the ref.  The ref saw 70 coming towards him from the sideline and he assumed he knew what was going to happen based on him reporting as eligible earlier in the game.  And so when 68 was trying to talk to him he heard what he thought he was going to hear.  70 never even gets close to the ref.

How is this a fine on the RB?

This is an example of why the NFL just sucks now.  Just remove the pads and helmets and go with flags already.

You are giving the ref too much of a pass by blaming the Lions for this.  The Lions even told the refs about this play prior to it happening, so they should have been prepared.

As you said, 70 didn’t even get close to the ref, yet he specifically said when the two lineman (68 and 58 I believe) were talking with him is when 70 reported as eligible.  This is incompetence at its best and corruption at its worst.
