Watching the Javy Baez base running blunders reminded me of how much I miss rooting against certain players.

Who are your least favorite NL Central players from the past 20 years?

Cubs: Alfonso Soriano (I really didn’t like the Cubs of that era)

Cardinals: Yadier Molina (no explanation required)

Reds: Danny Graves (worst closer with 182 saves ever?)

Pirates: Mark Melancon (never believed he should be an elite closer and couldn’t understand his good years. Overall, the Pirates are likeable)

Astros: Wandy Rodriguez (I’d love to see his career stats against Milwaukee)

Cubs: Willson Contreras

Reds: Aroldis Chapman

Cardinals: Yadi (also LaRussa even though he's not a player)

Pirates: Jose Bautista

Astros: Brad Lidge

Yadi is kind of low hanging fruit, but was it Chris Carpenter who seemed to come up with a new conspiracy theory to explain each bad outing? (And yes, La Russa would get my vote if eligible without a second thought).

It's Pujols for me and it's not even remotely close.

Agreed he used roids got away with it.  I still believe he and Freese both tested positive when Braun did but theirs were thrown out for being slightly lower than Braun’s levels.

St. Louis: So many to choose from among the focus of evil in the NL Central,

Cubs: If I had to pick, I'd say Rizzo, but the Cubs don't annoy me as much as their fans do, especially when they crash AFF/Miller Park

Pittsburgh: Adam Laroche - over the no-hitter we all know CC Sabathia had.

Cincinatti: Ex-Cardinal Scott Rolen, just for being with the focus of evil in the NL Central.

Houston: Lance Berkman. Sharpie did NOT balk that time in 2004 (https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL200406110.shtml), that was an exceptionally awesome pickoff move. Whoever called that move a balk makes Angel Hernandez look like a good umpire.

I just want to give clancy a little shoutout for referring to Sharpie in this post.  BF.netters of the mid-2000s will recall that was our nickname for Doug Davis once he showed up with facial hair that appeared to be drawn on with a Sharpie.

Thanks.

That balk call... still frosts me nearly two decades later. It was a CLEAN PICKOFF!! So Berkman moves 90 feet because Sharpie fooled him?
