I spent a few minutes looking at Flexen on statcast. Tops out at 92, 4 pitches, 8.74 ERA, around 10% k rate. Should be an easy win right. I look at his pitch by pitch data. Every one of his 4 pitches has a 25% whiff rate or higher. How the heck does he only have 10% k rate with those whiff rates? Maybe guys are trying to hit the ball to another planet early in the atbat at a high rate, plus small sample? The only noticeable change in his stuff I can see is his cutter/slider have a bit more break while his fastball is a little more straight compared to last year. All signs point to a beating, that said we typically struggle against these soft tossing weirdos so who knows.

This is news is just deflating.   That’s three injured starters.   And one of them is really good.

I dont know if we can hold up in the Long run.   This kinda sucks.    I was pretty excited about how this team was playing

Houser should be back soon, but yes certainly a difficult spot with so many injuries. If we can make do with Rea/Houser and hopefully avoid more injuries...we could potentially add an arm at the deadline AND get Woodruff back and be in a great spot to make a serious run.

Is the city of Seattle even safe to walk around in these days?

Hahahahahahahaha yeah I fear for my life every day. It's terrifying. Everyone's trying to move away. But somehow we have some of the most expensive housing prices in the nation. Strange.

It's not fun to pitch at Wrigley with a strong wind blowing out. On the contrary, it is lots of fun to pitch in the Seattle marine layer. Check out his home/road splits.

He's a solid back of the rotation / long relief guy.

I'd imagine we'll see a tweet in a few hours about Winker going to the IL. Key question is, who for?

If the Brewers follow their usual pattern they’ll play a player short for a few days thinking that Winker doesn’t need 10 days, and then put him on the IL later in the week.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Why do you think that? Winker said that his oblique soreness was because of excessive coughing from his bronchitis not from baseball activities and that he expects to be ready to play on Tuesday.

Because it's the Brewers...But glad he doesn't need to go on the IL.

Every city has good areas and bad areas you shouldn't go.  Use some common sense and you can figure out which is which pretty quickly.

Anyone on here ever go to a game at Seattle?  I said to my wife yesterday, next time the Brewers play in SEA, we should go!  She agreed.  Curious how the experience is at their stadium.

I’ve been to that stadium - it’s beautiful

Best food of any big league park I’ve visited … which is most of them

Several years ago, a member of my church (also a good friend) was Seattle’s First Base Coach

I got to meet Ichiro - he had 3 hits in the game - what a talent

Also Joey Wiemer likes fastballs... Flexen's pitch mix is 48% four seamer, 29% cutter so far this season. Let's mash my child

Tonight’s the night for Wiemer to get his first HR

Is it just me or is T-Mobile pretty empty? Seems weird given the market and Mariners competitiveness.

I mean out of all active big league franchises they definitely are 30th in overall success.  I imagine they don't really have much of a fanbase but I guess I have no idea.

I’m pretty sure they usually have good attendance, particularly when the team is good.

But I’m on my phone and looking it up sounds annoying so I’m not going to do it.
