And here I thought we couldn't possibly have worse injury luck this season. 4 weeks into the year and we already have more injuries than we did most of last year.

Frelick needed thumb surgery from sliding into a freaking base for goodness sake.

And sliding into a base cost Mitchell his season…….

Small comfort but if we're going to have a rash if injuries it's best at the beginning of the season. If it's too much to overcome we can be sellers in July. If we manage to stay in it we'll have some fresh impact players late in the season.

But sell what? An injured Woodruff? A struggling Burnes? A 91mph Lauer?

I suppose Adames, but even TT and Urias might be tough to move after their injuries.

Maybe by July, Burnes won’t be struggling anymore??

Same with Nola, Manoah, Alcantara, etc

Let’s hope so.

With the ridiculous amount of long-term injuries this team has suffered already this early in the season, they need a sharp and strong Corbin Burnes the rest of the year for this team to have a chance to get to the playoffs.

I am more worried about Frelick than I am of Mitchell as thumb injuries can be something that lingers for a long time.

This thumb injury for Frelick is going to impact him more than Mitchell’s shoulder injury.

Don't have to worry about super 2 anymore with Frelick.

I don’t think he comes up at all this season now.

Why?

He should be back playing for Nashville late June.

He's talking not coming up to Milwaukee.

Yeah, I know, but why won’t he get called-up the second-half of the season if he’s healthy and hitting?

I can't see Perkins being kept up long term, especially if he keeps being asked to bunt his PA's away (not a great sign). Taylor will need some ramp up time but hopefully he can be an above average contributor again. So much promise in Mitchell, kind of reinforces that Wiemer is staying around and learning at MLB level. Still hasn't found his sweet spot yet but his AB's are getting better, I'm sure we'll see a hot stretch at some point

To think we came into the season with a bunch of OFers. Now, if we are contending, it is highly likely we would be testing the waters on acquiring an OFer.

I guess Joey Wiemer will get to sink or swim till then.

Unless this injury bothers Frelick all season I find it highly improbable that Frelick stays in Nashville all season. They need him.

When has a thumb injury not bothered someone?

Trout had the same injury and surgery.  It took him some time to return to form after the injury.  I fully expect it to take the rest of the year for Frelick to be back where he was last year.  So I don’t see a call up likely for this year.

Is this the same injury that pretty much took all Braun's power away?

No, I didn't see anything about Frelick mention lozenges and creams.

Braun had a nerve issue.

Wonder how Frelick would have been had he started the season on Milwaukee vs Wiemer? We got the RHB Counsell needed for #8 or 9 in his order.

Sigh, maybe the bigger bases idea should be removed? How many injuries have been piling up around MLB with the more aggressive base running? Are players starting their slides later due to the shorter distance between bases?

Just hurts because I was so hyped to see what Frelicks bat profile addition to the team could look like in the lineup. And now I'm likely not seeing it until multiple players have been traded away.
