I wonder if GB would have gone with a safety if one of the two that went back to back just a few picks earlier were available

So first pick this year I don’t like.  With some safeties still available or even the tackle Duncan:

luckily lots of picks left

NFL.com rates him a priority undrafted signing.  We have like 7 picks in the upcoming rounds.  who was drafting this guy in the next 50picks?  Not even a writeup worthy player for espn.

This feels like a classic Rd 3 TT pick where you are left scratching your head. 😂

I’m worried it’s a classic Gutey 3 rd pick

I'm with you here. The first pick where I legitimately went 'Huh?!'. BUT, we have all the picks we need and they obviously saw what they liked. AND, if we're complaining about a back-up QB in the 5th as our weak link we can take it. I just have a problem with the fact he'll be 25 - so he's already an Old. AND, I personally don't see him as anything more than a 3rd string NFL caliber QB despite his accolades at PSU.

Unsurprisingly, Clifford holds a super high RAS and is a four year starter at a P5 school. Seems plausible that the mix of experience and athleticism was attractive. But I agree, feels like a guy they get with any of the later-ish picks, unless they like him more than any of the QBs left, which they could.

I keep seeing Clifford upside comps of Tyler Hoenicke. IF that is what the Packers got there (and, that's a big IF), I'm completely fine with it. I still don't like the pick. But, we have another pick upcoming and I am going to erase it from my memory.😅

Yes. He has plus qualities of a QB, for sure. He has very good pocket presence. He senses pressure. But, man, his accuracy is all over the place and he just doesn't have the arm strength. He seemed like a classic priority UDFA or late 7th round flier. Obviously, the staff loved what they experienced during the visit. We'll just have to see where it ends up.

Jacob Morley has been all over this wide out for a couple months. Pretty much his guy. One of 5 that met the Packer Report draftable criteria for the Packers. Very exciting pick for the WR room.

If they can figure out the drops it will be a really good pick.  Had a better year last year than this year - if you get the best version of Wicks it’s a home run:

So Packers drafted Four pass catcher so far.

I guess Gutey is OK with his current group of safeties.

While there's no way of knowing how it will turn out at this point I like Detroit's draft so far a lot better than ours even though they had a bit of a head scratcher with their first pick.

The Packers definitely have a type and Wicks meets that criteria. He was the 4th of 5 WR's meeting the Packer Report Packers WR criteria. The drops, like Watson and like Doubs, just appear to not matter to the Packers. As a fan, it's a bit nerve-wracking. Hopefully, they are sub 10%. Sub-10% drops is palatable.

Wicks had a 23% drop rate last year.

Literally the worst in the nation which is 9% higher than MVS career rate:

I get fans hate drops but it's also one of the most correctable flaws to have and it's a flaw a lot of young WRs have

See Johnson's fall ended right after our Wicks selection.  you may have had a Safety or ST players had you not I dunno, taken a practice squad QB with your 6th pick in the draft.
