Aside from their series against the Dodgers and the Astros, the Pirates' schedule has been pretty laughable to this point. I do think it's becoming clear, though, that they'll probably settle around the mid 70s to low 80s in wins rather than the 60s/low 70s they've been at over the last 8 years, But Connor Joe and Andrew McCutchen (at this point in his career) aren't the MVP candidates they're hitting like right now. And it's hard to believe that Rich Hill will stay healthy and that Vince Velasquez has suddenly figured it out at age 30 after being a downright terrible pitcher his entire career. Contreras, Oviedo, and Keller are nice arms, though. Overall, hard to see the Pirates becoming buyers and parting with the necessary prospect capital to acquire difference makers at this stage in their rebuild.

It’s Maggi magic.

If they're already talking about a ramp-up plan for Woody, perhaps he's not out for as long as we've been thinking...

Would be huge but really hope it is the right call. Last thing we need would be for him to come back just to immediately go back onto the IL.

True. Though while we've been focusing on Corey Kluber's timetable, Woody may have a less severe strain..

Oh, for sure. I just like pointing out that the Pirates have been playing well. That fanbase deserves some joy and it perfectly illustrates how baseball is such a silly game in small samples.
