Toro looks a little shaky at 3rd

I’ll be looking for a defensive replacement in the bottom of this inning.

Like Taylor to right and Anderson to 3rd. Two improvements for the price of one.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

No strikeouts through 8……..can’t remember last time we’ve seen that

We definitely won’t ever see it from an opponent’s pitcher.

I’m reminded that one of the great games of all time, Game 7 of the 1960 World Series won by the Pirates 10-9 on Mazeroski’s walkoff HR, had no strikeouts by either team.

A different era.

What about pitchers?

They just said on the telecast it was 1992 with no walks and no strikeouts.

That was an odd series. Yankees blew Pitt out in 2 or 3 of their wins, but the Bucs won the close ones. So much for run differential.

Don't know if Teheran can keep this up, but if he does it could eventually allow Houser to move to the pen which I think would be a big help.

It seems like every time they make the late-inning defensive move with Anderson from RF to 3B he makes a play--or two--that his predecessor might not have.

Public service announcement........in I think it was the 3rd inning Toronto did NOT have the contact play on w/one out, and it cost them a run. Just sayin'.

I was around to see a lot of that series on TV. The Yankees won their games 16-3, 10-0, and 12-0, and their losses were 6-4, 3-2, 5-2, and 10-9.

We were Yankees (and Braves) fans in those days because my Dad was a native New Yorker and Yankees fan. I remember rushing home for lunch as a third grader to catch a couple of innings of Game 7 on TV.

I know how bunting is frowned upon. But Anderson on 2nd, Toro on 1st, Turang a LHb with speed, 0 outs... That's the situation right there to call one isn't it? Caratini/Wiemer due up. Of course Caratini flies out.  Lh Caratini at the plate probability to roll a dp grounder has to be higher than when on RH side no? Should have moved the runners with Turang imo manufactured a bottom of the order run.

Agree. I was asking for my TV to show me a bunt there. I also had zero confidence it would show me one.

Anyone else see that fantastic start for Varland in Houston?

Think that’s his brother……he got returned to the Dodgers.

Can you imagine at the start of this season saying we drafted in Teheran with a 5.5 ERA in AAA for the Padres to face Alek Manoah, Cy Young candidate in Toronto, and yet that the Brewers won and Teheran outduelled him comfortably?
