Luke Adams wins Carolina League Player of the Week

Luke Adams slashed .588/.667/1.118 this week for a 352 wRC+. That included 5 XBH, 4 BB, 3 SB, and just 3 SO. 

He also had 11 batted balls with an EV over 96 and 5 batted balls with an EV over 108. He’s a 19 year old in A ball folks. Those are incredibly special numbers.

That is impressive.  Do we think he is due for a promotion?  3b is about to get very crowded.  Wilkens indicated he was headed for Wisconsin after a stay in Arizona.  Boeve and maybe Bitonti also figure into the 3b picture.

Really depends on what they do with Wilken. Wherever Wilken goes, Adams will likely be at the other A-ball level. Boeve is someone they said might play some 2B. Bitonti is super young so he’s going to only be in the ACL this year.

He is having one of the top 10 offensive seasons relative to level for a 19 year old this year, arguably top 5. And considering the top three are in no particular order Chourio,  Holliday and Caminero, that is pretty good.

I keep expecting Luke to start seeing more & more time at 1B. But with the athleticism & arm, it really makes sense to see if he can stick at third. 

To Wisconsin---Adams or Wilkin? That's a pretty tough call.

Ya gotta promote Adams and start out Wilken at Carolina.  Wilken is used to it out in the Carolina's and it would be nice to get acclimated to pro ball somewhere he is familiar.  Adams has proven he belongs at the next level.
