For the purpose of this exercise, we're going to assume the cost of acquisition is Chourio, Misiorowski, or Quero. Pick your poison.

If it involves Chourio in anyway I’d absolutely hate it.

Probably same with Mis as he’s right there with Skenes as the highest upside arm in the minors. And we’re set to lose Burnes/Woodruff here in short order.

Quero would be a slightly different story due to the presence of Contreras. I could possibly find a way to get excited despite how high I am on Quero.

I assume the "I'd be terrified" option is due to the high cost of acquisition? If so, that's my vote. With a side of entertained and thrilled.

EDIT: And prospect most willing to give up Quero. Still some volatility there I bet.

I would absolutely puke if we traded Chourio but I could live with anyone else, although it would still sting.

This is why I said "choose your poison". Pick the guy you're most willing to give up and vote accordingly.

Can I vote for all 4 options?

I'd get over the prospect cost because seeing the greatest baseball player of all time playing for my Brewers! What an awesome fan experience!

This site is still talking about Sabathia 15 years later as it was one of the great moments in team history.

Look, I LOVE prospects. But c'mon man, prospects come and go.

I love Misiorowski....but if it took just him headlining a trade for Ohtani and a couple low level lotto tickets, I'd do it in a heartbeat.  Pitching prospects flame out so frequently due to injury that it'd be hard to not just offer one really good one up for the best player in the game right now.  I'd have a harder time parting ways with Chourio or Quero for a rental because they're young everyday position player prospects that project to be franchise cornerstones for at least 6 years as soon as they're brought up.

I think an Ohtani trade would require much more in terms of prospect value, like two of the 3 names mentioned in this poll...I'd probably say no knowing it's just a short term rental - but it would be a total all in move just as the Brewers are getting other key arms back.  Adding Ohtani's bat in the middle of the lineup and his arm every 5th/6th day would make this team really dangerous in the playoffs.

As exciting as it was when Milwaukee acquired Sabathia, trading for Ohtani would be absolute pandemonium.

I'd make sure to enjoy every minute of it, especially since the price would sting for a long time.

if you could 100% guarantee that the Brewers were going to make the World Series with Shohei on the Brewers roster (not necessarily win it, but at least make it that far) I think I would make that trade nine times out of ten, even if it cost Chourio, or any of the others.   If it cost all three?   I think that would be too high of a price.

But no one can guarantee that.  No one.  So I'll keep my choice of "amusement".

It would be awesome until we get beat in the playoffs.

I would enjoy the Brewers offering the token 5 years and 100 million dollars to him however.

Ooh...damn. I jumped the gun on my pick. If it's Chourio+ either of those two, I'd be entertained, and also hate it.

I would not trade Chourio for almost anyone in the game...and definitely not a rental. And I'd say the same about Misiorowski+Quero.

So really I guess I'd hate it and then I'd come to terms with it and then just be happy for 3 months and probably miserable when the Angels end up with Trout(who should have been a Brewer) and then Acuna Jr...Jr in their OF.

If it only cost one of those three prospects it would be the easiest slam dunk trade of all time.

It would be a fun couple of months.  If it only cost of one of the three (and ideally not Chourio), that would be a fun ride.

It would be really exciting for fans of intentional walks.

You could probably bat Ohtani in front of Yelich which would help but I know what you’re saying.

It'd be cool but as great as he is I don't think he alone could put the team over Atlanta. This lineup would still have a few black holes of suck.

I don't know... Can you even imagine a five game series with Burnes, Ohtani, Woodruff?

Uh oh, I think I need to go change my pants now.

Sure, I can imagine a lot of 2-1, 3-1 losses for the Brewers in that scenario.

Have you looked at Ohtani's OPS? The Brewers just held their own against Atlanta for three games, Shohei certainly isn't going to make them worse.

As someone else posted, hope you like intentional walks. One really, really, really great hitter isn't going to prop up the crap that is the the bottom half of this lineup.
