Reds at Cubs (July 31-August 3)…. Who We Rooting Against

I think I would like to see the Cubs swept, even if that means us losing the division lead.

Think we should just worry about the Crew.   

Try to win the last game in Atlanta and take 2 of 3 from the Nats to go 3-3 on the road trip.  Hopefully have at least a 1 1/2 lead in first by the time we reach home again.

Doesn't matter who wins the Reds-Cubs series.  Either team will gain on the Brewers if we get swept by the Braves and lose the Nats series.

I'll be rooting for the Reds as I believe the Cubs are the better team.

If they split a four game series, neither team will get maximum momentum from it.

(Standings aside, though, Reds every day for me.  Of course, right now the standings matter.)

My eldest is driving up to Chicago from Florida to go to Lollapalooza for four days.  They are catching one of the games (Tuesday or Wednesday) while up there.  I think its root, root, root for the Cubbies for them.

We win 4, they both split so we gain on both.

I’ll hope for 2-2 so I won’t be rooting for anyone until one team has won 2. 
 

The much more important things is for the Brewers to win at least 7 of their next 10 games

Over these next 13, the biggest thing is just winning our games. There are bunch of series featuring playoff contenders versus playoff contenders (Giants-Dbacks, Reds-Cubs, Phillies-Marlins). Put together a good run here, and we'll have a little cushion when the schedule toughens back up in a couple of weeks, pretty much no matter what.

Of course, the Brewers struggled against the likes of the Tigers and A's earlier this year, so who knows? I will say: they're in the right part of their rotation right now. Here's hoping for a 5-2 week at least.
