Second two-run bomb in two innings. Again to LF. Meatball 90 mph heater dead center. 4-0 Cubbies. Pic says it all. Mistakes happen.

Going to need @Joseph Zarr to confirm this for everyone, but Jesus Rivero's stuff looks absolutely filthy. I feel like I am not being hyperbolic when I say his stuff might even look better than Logan Henderson's on this Carolina team

It is undeniably dirty. Grimy. Gross. He has unbelievably intriguing stuff for his age and experience. He is just violent in every aspect. Different pitcher than Henderson. Love em both. At this stage, Hendo is more advanced in his control and accuracy - he knows his stuff and executes on a nigh in and night out basis. Rivero still has a propensity to lose his location. It isn't Low-like (at present) but because his stuff is so filthy he'll go an inning with WP's, HBP's, and walks. You don't really see this in Henderson's outings - more advanced. More experience. But, the raw tools in Rivero's arsenal are off the charts. He has the whole package of stuff. It's a matter of how he develops.

Peterson is getting absolutely tagged in South Bend. He just gave up what 'should' have been a 3-run home run jack (again to LF) off the top of the wall. The umpiring crew gets it wrong. But, it's a two-run double instead. 6-0 Cubs. Peterson's low velo is killing him because he's finding way too much of the plate.

He's got that big FB? You mentioned Low, so I'm guessing(hoping) he's in that mid to upper 90s range as well.

Woodruff with 3 IP | 1 BB | 3 K on 35 pitches so far in Nashville.

So he kinda lost it in the 4th?

Please tell me that his FB velo was still good and he didn't just completely loose his command. That's all I really need to hear about with regard to Woody.

Not sure if this is new with the MiLB interface update, or something that is only available for certain AAA stadiums, but the game day feature is more detailed than I remember it being.

Just scrolled through the 4th and it looked like velo was fine, mostly 95/96 on the four seam and sinker.

Lead off walk who stole his way to third didn’t help, but looks like all three hits he gave up were actually on pitches outside the zone.

He sits more 93-95 but touches 96 mph. It's his action and his off-speed stuff that makes the difference. Low is primarily 96-98 mph with a wicked slider but he hasn't located much at all in the past month. He has to rediscover the zone. Rivero also struggles with this from time-to-time this season (as seen tonight). Both very intriguing arms. Both with miles to go. Lots to work with, however.

It is entirely new and way more detailed. It's kind of nuts. 😅

LHP Adam Seminaris (first game since May 17) is getting a rehab start for ACL Brewers. There are no debuts (Bitonti, Pratt, Adamczewski) in the starting lineup.

I’m guessing that OF Duncan Garcia is dealing with a minor injury, as we’ve not seen him since he exited a game early 8 days ago.

LHP Eric Lauer is back on the mound for his first work in Nashville in some time. He gets the punch out facing his first batter. Here's hoping we get a darkhorse resurgence for Lauer.

Yeah, looks like breakdown of Woodruffs hits were…

2B: 77.3 exit velo and 5 degree launch angle that went 82 ft to LF on a 95.6 MPH four seamer up out of the zone to LH hitter (opposite field shift aided double is my guess)

1B: 71.4 exit velo and 30 degree launch angle that went 247 ft to RF on an 89.4 MPH cutter off the plate to a RH batter (reached out and poked one the other way)

3B: 92.9 exit velo and 37 degree launch angle that went 361 ft to RF on an 88.1 MPH cutter just off the plate in and down (only real hard hit ball of the three, not a mistake center center but down in on a LH hitter is always dangerous)

Lauer's heater is sitting 90-94 mph. He's varying speeds. He struck out his first batter on a gorgeous looping 76 mph curve directly on the outer stripe. A three up and three down first frame of work.

Definitely matches what I saw. First two were very weakly hit. Second wasn't smashed by any measure but felt sky high and looping and found an improbable gap between Naquin and Harrison in far right center that fell on the warning track's dirt.

Keston Hiura works an 0-2 count to 2-2. In an 0-3 night at the plate he avows: "I do not care, fine Sirs!" He rips a looping double to the wall in far LF. That was a huge hit just after rehabbing Brian Anderson struck out swinging on a heater high and in on the edge of the zone. Sounds were trailing 3-0. They now lead 6-3. All six coming in this 6th frame.

Noice, Keston! Beautiful piece of hitting!

Meanwhile, at Pensacola we have a mini-rally for the Shuckers here in the top of the 6th behind a run-scoring single off the bat of INF Freddy Zamora and OF Carlos D. Rodriguez follows suit with an rbi-double. It's now 6-5 Pensacola. The comeback dreams are alive and well.

Brent Diaz demonstrating, yet again, why he isn't just 'that other catcher'. He's a really talented young player. 2-for-3, 2 2B - one of which was the tying dub in the 6th. It's now a 6-6 game in the bottom half as LHP Luis Amaya tries to work out of a men on 1st and 2nd two out scenario.

It's the top of the 8th in Pensacola and we're still tied 6-6. LHP Luis Amaya got a lotta of 'grounded out softly' to end his 7th inning of work. Big payday innings here. Let's see if the Shuckers can pull it out!

RHP J.B. Bukauskas works around a one out line drive single to CF by striking out the next batter on a gorgeous 1-2 sider but then gets a groundball single just into CF past a diving 2B Patrick Dorrian. We now have a runners on the corners, two down ball game here in the top of the 9th. Sounds still lead 6-4. Big AB here, obviously.

Meanwhile, in Pensacola, the Shuckers bats strand INF Zavier Warren at 1B after he hit a looping flare for a hit into shallow LF. It's still 6-6 in Pensacola as they'll bat in the bottom of the 8th.

AND, rehabbing 3B Brian Anderson makes yet another ridiculously difficult play at 3B look routine to end the game in a Sounds victory. An extremely weakly hit groundball up the 3B side off a lefty bat with Anderson in the hole. He charges, scoops, and throws a rifleshot dead accurate to Hiura at 1B nailing the runner by a single step. He is so steady at the hot corner. Sounds win 6-4. Lauer gets the 'W'. Bukauskas grabs the 'Save'.

The Marlins' LHP Jefry Yan continues his dominance on the hill. He gets the swinging K from 1B Tyler Black and a weak jam shot infield pop up off the bat of CF Jackson Chourio - no easy feat. This young man is such an intriguing bullpen arm. That's now 79 K for Yan in just 43 IP in 2023. Whewwwwww lawwwwwd. Such an intriguing lefty.

The volatile RHP Cam Robinson will come aboard and try to maintain the tie. He is making it challenging off the bat with a dead center heater ripped into RF by newly promoted 3B Jacob Berry (who I was watching in High-A earlier this season!).
