How low on the meter is Robinson's confidence at present? He doesn't go for the lead runner or the double play on this routine bunt to the pitcher's mound - he didn't give himself the chance to make the play, honestly, when he kept his momentum going to 1B upon review but that play was there to be made. That is a very makable play but he didn't even look to 2B. We have to go there in this situation by my book. Let's hope he can escape the runner in scoring position. That was not a very good bunt from the very dangerous Victor Mesa Jr..

And now we have lefty bat, and Shuckers nemesis Griffin Conine to the plate with the RISP and he already has two HR on the evening. Let's go, Cam! Dig deep young man!

Phewww boy, Cam got away with a center cut off-speed pitch - slightly elevated which helped - as Conine flies out 382 feet to deep CF in front of the warning track. Berry fails to tag as he has to sprint back to the bag. AND, Robinson then gets a comebacker he adroitly snags on the hop to the mound and gets the out at 1B.

Attta way, Cam! Attttta way to find that late-inning resolve!

Who other than INF Isaac Collins to take the second Yan pitch into RF for an rbi single to start the 10th frame? Nice easy swing. Better result. It's 7-6 as Manfred's Man (Chourio in this case) crosses the dish.

OH Sweeeeeeet Sugah! An Oppo Taco off the bat of C Wes Clarke sails just over the RF wall. It kept carrying in that heavy Pensacola evening air. Whewwwww baby! It's suddenly 9-6 and that, my friends was the very first long ball LHP Jefry Yan has allowed all season long.

Clarkey BABY! Love it!

And, here's your retroactive highlight. Heck of a poke:

Zavi Warren with the clutch scoop and barehanded grab and throw to 1B for the first out. He then collects a grounder directly to him at 3B keeping the lead runner at 3B. Out numero dos. And, Robinson has the next batter in a 2-2 count. The batter calls a timeout and steps out of the box. Robinson gets the swing and the miss on a sinking off-speed pitch in the dirt. HUGE outing from Cam after the lead-off single in the 9th. He stayed uber-steady. The Shuckers have now won 7 games straight. THAT was the sauce.

Lauer's heater is sitting 90-94 mph. He's varying speeds. He struck out his first batter on a gorgeous looping 76 mph curve directly on the outer stripe. A three up and three down first frame of work.

If he touched 94, that’s a huge improvement over the last time he pitched for Nashville. If I remember correctly he could barely touch 90.

Gives me hope for the future with Lauer again. Best news of the day for me. Oh, and Woody getting over 70 pitches tonight is a close second.

Woody looked good. A very nice Rehab outing:

The ACL Crew are trailing 6-1 in the later innings but new Brewer and 2023 2nd round draft pick, Mike Boeve, hit his 2nd HR in his last two games.

Papa likey!

Yeah, it's a final now: the Crew lose 6-1. Things of note: INF Dylan O'Rae swipes his 25th bag. Brock Wilken swipes his first bag (!). RHP Ryne Moore struggles again - 2 IP, 6 H, 1 BB, 1 K, 3 ER. LHP Adam Seminaris works a scoreless 1 IP -3 H, 1 K. And, lastly, but not least: Intriguing but flawed INF Juan Baez continues struggling in the field. Two more errors on the day - 1 fielding/1 throwing - brings his short season total to 15. It certainly appears, in the very early going of his career, defense (or a possible lack thereof) is his Achilles' heel.

Was considering Baez for one of the last couple spots on my Top 20 ballot, but the fielding WOAHs and 2.7 BB% ended up just keeping him off for me.

He sits more 93-95 but touches 96 mph. It's his action and his off-speed stuff that makes the difference. Low is primarily 96-98 mph with a wicked slider but he hasn't located much at all in the past month. He has to rediscover the zone. Rivero also struggles with this from time-to-time this season (as seen tonight). Both very intriguing arms. Both with miles to go. Lots to work with, however.

I guess I wasn't really thinking he'd be in the upper 90s as a 20 year old, but so many of these guys are throwing 90-92 and...it's SO hard to project when or if that jump in velo is going to come. But if a 20 year old sitting 6'3 175 is already throwing in the mid 90s with filthy movement, that's ALL I need to know.

The Brewers seem to get the most out of these guys. And someone with that type of stuff, maybe next year he hits HiA, still just 21(20 most the year) and who knows how quickly he moves. Sometimes it's just trusting that stuff and filling out a bit. If he's touching 96 now, easy enough to see him sitting 95-96 and touching 98 after adding ~15 pounds in a couple years and knocking on the door.

That's all I really want to know. Is this guy who**COULD be a TOR type arm in the future or is this a guy who's just getting by on a change up and a mature repertoire. WE get so little info on these guys, you just never know.

Not sure if this is new with the MiLB interface update, or something that is only available for certain AAA stadiums, but the game day feature is more detailed than I remember it being.

Just scrolled through the 4th and it looked like velo was fine, mostly 95/96 on the four seam and sinker.

Lead off walk who stole his way to third didn’t help, but looks like all three hits he gave up were actually on pitches outside the zone.

Ok...so then seems like he's generally on track to come back. See how he feels and hopefully he's starting for the Brewers in 4 days. That'd be a massive boon.

@BrewerFan: Here's a brief look at his recent 4 IP, 7 K, 0 H outing @ Columbia in late relief innings. He was dominancing, essentially, with the slider and then really working the elevated part of the strikezone. He touched 95 mph on two of these punchouts. Sat 92-93 in several others. Dips it down to 90-91. His control, as I've said, is an unknown from outing-to-outing (sadly) but he had been quite consistent up until yesterday's loss of command.

In my viewings, I actually have been thinking the 90-91 pitches might be cutters/sinkers. He seems to mix both in from time to time.

Yes to the Cutter. It has that classic late horizontal movement by my eyes. I've had the very same thought. Sinker? Maybe? I can't say 😅 Either way, a nice ball of clay. The pitching that has come through and out of Carolina in 2023 is quite wild. There's a reason they've been near the top of the leaderboard in nearly every pitching category in the Carolina League.
