If you told me you were going to give an orangutan a bat and send him up to hit, that is about the at bat I would expect to see.

Its sad that we have to punt a game late down only two runs but it was probably the right decision knowing how inept our offense is.

I'm sure he's not just giving up, but he's putting Mejia in there knowing that he's saving his "better" arms that he has a better mathematical chance to win than they do today. Of course you want to try your hardest to win every day, but in a 162 game season, you have to manage your resources, not just go balls-out like every day is game 7 of the world series.

Fulmer strikes out Albies and Riley with the bases loaded as the Cubs try to move to within a game and a half.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Wiemer needs to take the off-season and take a long look at his approach at the plate. What worked against AAA (and AAAA) talent isn't working here.

He just doesn't have a major league swing and to be honest I'm surprised he is even hitting above .200.

I don't want to say it but I think the division race is over and I question if we even finish above .500.

After every loss, there's a chorus of how terrible we are, and we have no chance at the postseason.

And yet here we are.

I'm not saying we're doing great, but we're not midpack water treaders.

True but only because of the division. In context we are not a good baseball team.

He needs to be sent down to Nashville & have his approach to hitting changed bottom to top - all that motion needs to be removed … if not - he’s nothing more than a 5th OF for late innings defense OR a pinch runner in extra innings … there is not room on the 26-man roster for such a player

Yes we are, we just happen to be in this division.  We have a negative run differential and there are absolutely zero series that this team should be thinking is one they should win.

He has exceptionally good hand-eye coordination but his mechanics are a train wreck and unless that's fixed he's about at his ceiling.

We had two series this week that a good team would have won but we are about to finish 3-4.

And yet, get us in a three game playoff series with Burnes and Big Woo, and we have a real good shot to keep the buggy moving.

That’s only because the divsion was so bad at the start of the year.   It’s clear that some of the teams are better than that.  Considerably better.   If there was only like 10-15 games left I’d be fine with our spot.   But there is still a third of the season left.   We are exposed

the division is over you just don’t know it yet
