On the replay, I'm not convinced that the pitcher's heel didn't make contact with the base before Contreras's toe did. If it didn't, obviously safe but I would need another/different look to be sure.

That's very likely why the call stood. If it was safe on the field it would have stood as well. Just no way to tell if Wicks back/middle of his foot touched the bag because it was blocked in the dugout view by Contreras foot.

Wonder what the Vegas odds were that Wicks would be pulled before Lauer after the top,of the first?

Pressure on a team is real.  I was wrong about the Brewers and happily so.  The Cubs are really feeling it though.
