Lauer’s collapse this year is reminiscent of Scotty Karl’s final season after he left the Brewers … he had been a consistent starter for about five seasons & suddenly lost his magic

They aren't offering him arby and the 3-4 million to keep him.  He is pitching his last game as a Brewer.  If this year taught us anything their is always a veteran 'scrap heap' pickup that you can bring in to pitch to a 5 ERA and be serviceable on the cheap.  Teheran and Rea.  Guys like those 2 are always out there in the regular season through DFA/Roster Crunches/etc. and at a fraction of the cost.
