Via "The Scott Mitchell Show (TSN in Canada)": "Toronto’s own Tyler Black joins the show fresh off a batting practice session thrown by his broadcaster father, Rod, and ahead of a huge spring training for the Brewers infielder, as he heads into camp with a legit chance to crack the opening day roster for the first time in his career. After being selected 33rd overall in 2021, Black talks about his journey from Wright State to the brink of his major-league debut." (go to the 02:40 minute mark)

Also, Misiorowski #33, Quero #35, and Black #46....

Only 4 top 100 players compared to Cubs' 7, but important to remember there's very little separating 60-100 and 100-150, where the Brewers presumably have Wilken, Lara, etc. Brewers' farm strength is top-line talent and depth up to around #15-20, where they're deeper than pretty much everyone except for the Orioles.

Yes. By 4th of July, the Brewers could have 8 guys on the list.

After the recent Burnes trade with the Orioles, Baseball America has published a new 2024 Farm System Talent Ranking list. The Brewers clock in at 2nd Place. Wow.

Quote

There was a significant gap between No. 1 and No. 2 on this list prior to the Burnes deal. The Brewers somewhat closed that gap and are now firmly entrenched in the second position. A system led by the high-impact pair of OF Jackson Chourio and RHP Jacob Misiorowski is a great start. The Brewers also have a solid second tier of prospects led by C Jeferson Quero, 2B Tyler Black, LHP Robert Gasser and the newly-acquired DL Hall. This is the Brewers’ highest position in our preseason Organization Talent Rankings since ranking No. 1 in 2004.

I took in the full conversation, it was fun to hear that Dunn had just begun his honeymoon when the Brewers acquired him, his AFL reflections, comments on his defensive capabilities and more.

But podcasters, for single-subject interviews, regardless of value, shoot for that 30-45 minute sweet spot.

Eighty minutes is really pushing it.

That’s gotta be the most aggressive placement for Quero so far. Exciting stuff.

IIRC, Law was one of the early buyers on Quero. I think he likes being the "first".

We all appreciated the "Just Baseball" rankings when first released - where does Ortiz land?

I can't recall the Brewers ever having 8 55 guys in the system.  Pretty impressive.  Plus another 5 50 or 50+ guys.

Gonna be an exciting few years.

His write up for Misio basically says he’s got two 70 grade pitches, possibly both 80, but he doesn’t like rating relievers highly.

Yeah, I think he's totally convinced he won't be anything but a reliever - hence the lower ranking (#90) than some publications. I don't have a problem with that - just pointing out his reasoning for the lower ranking.
