This was proposed on MLB Network. Two top 100 prospects included.

If they are placing that value on those prospects, fine, But, man, between the outfield depth, the consistently high strikeout rate, and the mixed reviews I have seen defensively, I am not sure Pereira would be high on my list.

Hampton is a nice arm and definitely worthy of getting a hold of.

Pereira is really iffy. Some scouts like him a lot - some aren't sold on his hit tool. The guys at Fangraphs put him as the Yankee's #17 prospect in 2024 - really dissing his hit tool.

Thoughts on Oswald Peraza? I think Hampton and Peraza - and something else - might be okay. Nothing thrilling over-the-top thrilling, but potentially interesting. Don't really know these guys very well - just going by numbers and reports.

I am not high on Peraza, I would much rather get on of Lomabard/Arias instead. I wrote this before but I could see there being a 3 team deal here if the Yanks want to get rid of an OF prospect like Periera.

Yanks Burnes, Mariners get Periera, we get Hampton, Lombard/Arias, 3B Locklear, P Berroa

It would potentially dilute the top end talent we could get but Hampton will likely be a solid #3 starter, Lombard/Arias have giant ceilings, Locklear is a solid 3B/1B prospect to pair with Wilken/Black (1 DH's or Black to 2B), and Berroa has closer stuff.

Network dumping the weakest Peraza-Pereira duo that had 0 need on the Brewers. Tossing Hamilton who makes sense.  Welcome back Cy Young Burnes and QO in 9months  do we remember Frazier/Miguel Andujar coming of injury with 0 games returned in trade offers? This is that version by the Yankees MLB network.

If nobody can beat this ceiling, you had better wait til trade deadline.

Adding- Looking at the Yankees roster makeup. This is them getting rid of their depth of worse vs better. So add Volpe or Dominguez and now it's an actual offer. Vs add #5 OF or #2 utility infielder and a future #3 for a year on Burnes ranked 2nd best SP this year by same network.  You think if roles were reversed and Cole was Burnes they'd take Turang and Wiemer with Gasser/Rodriquez as the SP?

I know the trade value site doesn't agree with it, but how can the Yankees say now to a Burnes/Adames for Volpe/Hampton trade

I really didn't track Volpe's rookie season that closely.  What is the overall consensus from those that did?  I see that his overall WAR was 3.3, but then I took a look at some of his offensive numbers and I was less impressed.  Again though...hard to put too much stock in a rookie season, especially for a kid playing under the bright lights of NY.  Would the Yankees consider him "untouchable" in any deal?

Savant makes it look like Volpe is the better-er version batting of Turang with a stronger arm.   Volpe had top 10? 20? prospect status when graduated. Gave 159Gms (below 600PAs) last season hitting 21HRs. .209BA.  He's got the better hit tool over Turang thus the ranking vs 80s.  Considering the current SS depth, he would slide in to the roster quite well with less questions than Turang at SS especially moving Adames in such trade.  Higher ceiling than the network trade idea. Young 5years? team control? If I'm adding Adames, Hampton isn't enough. Would need to dig on the 3rd piece. May be off the ML roster vs a prospect with the salary impact now including Adames. But that is where my mindset sits on trading Burnes. We go from Mayo with Baltimore thoughts- to junk from Yankees. Baltimore hangs up on is-we better hang up on Yankees. Makes sense for Yanks to take 1 yr of Adames(to QO unquestionably vs Milw) if they doubt Peraza isn't ready to take SS duties in 2024 over Volpe.(sign no on quality?) 1 more season to hone his place on a ML roster.
