Give Uribe a lot of credit, not just for finding the strikeout stuff after a rude greeting, but for that really great play to end the top of the 8th.

Maaaaaaybe our boy Abner grew up a little bit today. Easy to hang your head & succumb to a case of the "here we go agains" after the triple. He made some nice pitches afterward despite not having his best FB (topped out at 97 I believe) & needing to locate both the FB & the slider. And he finished it with a defensive play a lot of pitchers don't make.

I wish Ortiz would be given a nice extended run of starts at 3B.

That's a theft, but you sort of feel like the Padres stole game 1 with that weird big inning.

I thought the April schedule was really difficult. Still got that Yankees-Rays week to navigate, but 11-6 is a great, great start. Let's hope the more solid part of the rotation can win us a series in STL.

Exactly how I felt. We were the better team in game 1 and Padres in game 3. We deserved to lose the series 2-1 not get swept.

I like the pitch clock a lot, but I'd argue for it to be like 2-3 seconds longer per pitch. 18 with no one on, 20 with runners on.

Right. I thought it was good enough last year. WAs really surprised they shortened it a bit more this year.  IMO, adding one second to each this would've been fine to less rushing a smidge. The pace speed improvement would still be great compared to what it was.

That game seemed incredibly short.

2:04, which matches the fastest Brewers game of 2023.

The games tend to get longer as the season goes on and offense increases. Today might end up being the fastest of 2024.

No need to act like we stole this. This is exactly what our team was built on....defense and bullpen. Our speed set up a game winning opportunity.

Game 17 and we are starting Bryce Wilson.

Our pitching situation is what one might call "dire".

10% of the season … pitching crisis

Great win, gritty pitching and defense. Turang and Perkins come up huge when needed.

Lack of overusing the bullpen is a big worry but we should get Megill, Gasser, and Junis back in the coming week(s). With the day off and then Freddie our pen should get a bit of a reset.

Not to often 1 run on 3 hits gets you a win.

Becoming obvious Bauers needs to be upgraded.

If Black isn't ready defensively would Oliver Dunn be able to play some 1B. I know he really hasn't but it would allow Ortiz more PT and improve the 1B rotation.

A solid AAA pen and rotation should help if we keep rotating guys through. Think how big those 3-4 innings Koenig gave us the past 2 days ended up being today. I would trust  guys like Koenig, Paredes, Myers, Middendorf, Holab, Zastryzny, Thompson, Bennett, and Chirino all to be able to make a couple day appearances and and throw 3-4 innings and be sent down. If we lose a guy or two from that list to the dfa/no options list no big deal because our AA bullpen is solid as well.

Dunn's bat has cooled off quite a bit. His xwOBA is barely better than Bauers at this point.

Brewers haven't pitched guys on four days rest in years.

That's strange, I must've missed the 6 or 7 man rotations they were running in past years.  I count six times Peralta pitched on 4 days rest last year and seven times for Burnes.

Listened to Murphy's press conference yesterday and in short Murphy's response was did you see how well Peralta pitched last start on longer rest. So maybe that is the plan all year for Peralta.

I don't think they have that luxury unless they go out and get another starter or two.  This bullpen is never going to last with the amount of innings they have to eat up.

Brandon Belt is still unemployed.

This is just way too easy...Belt must just not want to play in MKE.

I don't see Dunn playing 1B over Bauers. And I think Ortiz should be playing more regardless.

After the year off, hoping Hoskins gets into a comfortable groove at 1B. His glove struggles could indirectly keep Black off the roster as Hoskins has been filling the DH spot more than most folks expected.

Wow, just saw the play Uribe made in the 8th.  Whoever was on the radio call, I don't keep track of the names too well these days other than Uke, did not do that play justice.  Incredible play for a pitcher!
