1/2 inning played for the DSL Brewers Uno. Pena already has a knock, a run, and a stolen base.

SHEEEEEESH

Crew lead 1-0. CF Engel Paulino knocked him across via a single to SS.

Hello RHP Jesus Flores!

5 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 1 ER, 9 K for the DSL Cerveceros Dos. Offense also having a day. They lead 9-1 top of 6th. Everyone but 9-hitter INF (2B) 17-year-old Moises Polanco with a knock. There are many an intriguing storyline going on in both DSL squads at present.

Let's use an oldy but a goody: 'Tickled pink!' at these ongoing developments. I say...I say

All I am going to say is Pena and Made are ridunkulous. My goodness. Crew Uno come back to take a 7-6 lead after trailing 6-1. Crew Dos leading 12-3. Broca allowed 2 runs in 2 IP for the Dos BUT he also K'd 6! Whewwww.

I said it the day they signed this group— my favorite IFA class ever. Size, power potential, defense, hit-tool, this class has everything.

The ‘24 IFA class & the ‘23 draft-class have injected franchise-altering talent into this organization.

I mean Made n' Pena batting 1-2 again:

7-of-9, 6 R, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 0 K, 1 2B, 1 SB

Set the tone much? 10-6 Crew headed to the money innings.

Luis Guevara (3 IP | 1 H | 1 BB | 3 K) and Saul Sanchez (2 IP | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K) close it out with five scoreless relief innings in the 13-6 DSL Uno victory.

AND how about a 3-run 9th w Made triple in der for good measure?!? He just passed Pena's 1.440 OPS!

Jose Anderson 3-5 with 2 doubles and a homer... Quite the start for him as well. Already 3 bombs and that 1.553 OPS will play.

Yup. We've been chatting about him quite a bit of late. He's essentially fitting the early Baseball America scouting write-up to the letter. Lesser heralded but a $60K signing bonus certainly indicates the Brewers were serious and he wasn't just 'a guy' in a pool of the $10K guys - which I don't mean in any way shape or form as disparaging.

EDIT: I was like - when did he bomb?! Sure nough. The 8th frame. Man, the young men put some runs today late. Love it.

Yep, I read the BA article and figured he'd be one to watch, but my goodness this is a ridiculous start.

The DSL Brewers Uno (5-1) are now 3rd in Runs Scored in their 6 game sample. The trail only the League-leading Giants Black (7-0) and DSL Tampa Bay (4-3) but both have played 7 games. If we extrapolate out the Uno's ridunkulous 8.83 R/G average, they would lead Tampa Bay by a run. The Uno also hold the 3rd spot when it comes to Run Differential - 20 Runs difference...53 RS-to-33 RA. It's fair to say: this is a talented squad with Championship potential. The DSL Brewers Dos are really not all that far behind but it would appear, early at least, they may have more challenges with their pitching staff. The Dos have only played 5 games. Yet, they've given up three more runs than their counterparts in the Crew Uno pitching staff. Yet, holding a 3-2 record after today's shellacking of the same DSL Tampa Bay squad referenced above, they are still managing to plate an impressive 8.6 R/G. It is quite fair to say: both these Brewers DSL teams can mash. Which is quite fun!

Offense remains the theme in the ACL where the ACL Crew are tied atop the RS leaderboard with 187 runs scored in 28 games. The problem here? The ACL Crew pitching staff has also allowed a League-Leading 207 Runs. This is 27 runs more than their next closest counterpart in the ACL Royals. Yikes. Averaging 6.68 R/G. Allowing 7.39. This quite easily explains a season spent below the 0.500 mark. They sit in 10th place overall in a 15-team League at 12-16. Their regular season will run until July 25th. Lotta ball games left...which appears to mean lots of runs on both sides of the diamond.

Rodriguez worked around a one-out double in the first. Scoreless with a K. On to the bottom half for the Muddies first AB's. Super annoying right now, however. For some reason we don't have an MiLB.TV feed. Weird. I guess I'll jump to the T-Rats as sole focus.

Manfredi looking very sharp early. He works around a quick 1-2-3 inning to open his start with a nice swinging K on an outside sinking change-up to end his 1st inning. Meanwhile, Rodriguez works around a bloop poke to shallow CF by getting a beautiful CS by David Garcia with a fantastic throw to 2B. Rodriguez then gets the weak end-of-bat roller to the mound to end the threat. On to the bottom of the 2nd. 0-0 in both knocks so far.

Guilarte smacks a first pitch single through the 1B side. AND, Matt Wood does the same in West Michigan. Both balls cracked. Noice!

For those wondering who is doing PxP for the Muddies, he is Evan Budrovich... a FloSports and ESPN+ broadcaster mainly. Looks have it he will be there all week in place of Chris Edwards.

" He also blabs alotttt FYI"

Walling missed a three-run bomb by about 1/2" on the barrell. Instead we get a long, high fly ball to the base of the RF wall. Whew. Doesn't get much closer than that. Tough luck! On to the 3rd frame.

Low-A Carolina hosts Nationals’ affiliate Fredericksburg this week, with 18-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (3.66 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 in 46 2/3 IP) starting Game One. The magic number to clinch the first half title is 6 games.
