We are a hot and cold hitting team.

Like Jerry Reed used to sing. When you're hot you're hot and when you're not you're not.

Not really.  They have a break out game every so often but the offense has been pretty bad for awhile now.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Frelick needs to go he is just absolutely horrible.  Offensively he is bottom of the league for everything other than speed.

Get Robert and give up Frelick Weimer and Black.

I doubt that's even enough. Sounds like they want a better deal than what the Padres got for Soto.

And he rarely uses the speed on the basepaths.

When we are cold, we are frozen stiff.

Why didn't we bring in Hoby against the left handed batter?

I think they only use him when we have the lead.

Now I know Sanchez hasn't had a hit off the pitcher but who watching the Brewers all year had money on a clutch hit from Frelick over Sanchez? You have to have a feel of the game. Give me Sanchez all day every day.

Oh well. This loss is 100% on the offense (obviously). Ugly, ugly baseball. Go get 'em tomorrow, Tobes!

Not that it wasn't ugly, but the worst/ugliest baseball is bad defense, stupid baserunning and terrible situational pitching (walking guys that should be pitched to and grooving pitches to guys that should be pitched around).  It wasn't so much that tonight, it was just getting beat.

Ok, that was pretty ugly. In addition to somehow stranding all the runners early, I guess you can say Kikuchi was a little fortunate in that his early troubles, two of the ABs that really could've turned things early he happened to face the only two LHH in the lineup, and Yelich & Turang put up two of the uglier ABs of the entire game. Turang really needed to get the bunt down in the 2nd, Levering & Schroeders' excuses about bunting vs a lefty notwithstanding.

For the first time we saw the reasons Paredes has bounced around a little, rear its' ugly head. Walking Horwitz w/o a runner in scoring position, can't do it.

Eh, take the series tomorrow.
