A reverse unicorn with that ball being gone in 29/30 ballparks...

Those things can be misleading when dealing with Coors. The ball might not carry that far in other parks.

With Megill comfortable in the closer role do you keep him there and have Williams pitch the 7th or 8th until he gets up to speed or do you just throw him right in the fire

I’ll be surprised if Williams has his first appearance in the ninth with a slim lead. It could happen if Megill was unavailable due to throwing innings in consecutive games, but the prudent thing to do would be to let Devin get his feet wet first.

Seems un-Brewers to take someone out of ‘their role’ due to injury. I’d expect Williams to take the ball in the ninth in his first appearance.

I agree with your logic but not sure if the Brewers do, too.

We're on the same page. The 9th will be Williams' job in the short to medium term after his return, but it just doesn't seem like a great idea to just throw him out there on day one when you have a proven effective alternative. Also, Williams wasn't on a short IL stint - there will almost for sure be an adjustment period.

You could be right, though.

Great W boys!

Man I was catching up on the gamethread putting the kids to bed...reading the first 6 pages you could of swore Dallas gave up 15 runs in 2 innings on here...come to find out it was 2 over 5.

Somehow still finding ways to win. Amazing.

Dallas didn't have control in the first 2 innings and was getting hit pretty hard.  He was sort of lucky to only give up two.  The rest of his outing looked much better.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
